- Two years of insurance verification or registration experience in a hospital or physician office are required.
- Knowledge of medical insurance and billing requirements is required.
- Proficiency in Flowcast, HQ, eCAOS, MISYS, and Spheris is required.
- The ability to organize, take independent action, and project Cooper values to customers and co-workers is required.
- Experience in cardiology scheduling, front-desk operations, and basic hospital or physician coding knowledge are required.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Conduct interviews with patients and families to verify insurance coverage.
- Obtain insurance benefit information and pre-certification.
- Make referrals to financial assistance services for patients with less than 100% coverage.
- Assist patients with medical coverage.
- Perform scheduling and administrative duties as needed.
- Knowledge of state and federal medical assistance and health services programs.
- Bilingual ability.
