Requirements
  • At least 8 years of hands-on experience operating sheet metal machinery to fabricate units with complex contours and multiple angles.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven experience using hand and power tools, including precision measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, and protractors.
  • Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand for a minimum of 8 hours per day.
  • Willingness to work overtime and weekends as needed.
Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate Trumpf computer numerical control brake press machines.
  • Fabricate and assemble sheet metal components based on schematics and engineering drawings.
  • Determine methods and materials and plan, fabricate, and assemble sheet metal products according to engineering blueprints, drawings, verbal instructions, and sketches.
  • Manipulate flat patterns and lay out, measure, and mark dimensions and reference lines on material.
  • Select sheet metal gauges and types according to specifications, including brass, copper, aluminum, steel, and stainless steel.
  • Manage inventory levels of material, consumables, and shop-floor supplies.
  • Lead or participate in continuous-improvement activities, including 5S, Kaizen events, team building, and training.
  • Perform basic preventive maintenance on equipment, including Total Productive Maintenance.
  • Provide feedback to site management to identify future requirements and support strategic decisions.
  • Develop specifications from general descriptions and draw sketches of parts or products to be fabricated.
  • Confer with engineers, production personnel, programmers, and others to resolve component or assembly issues.
  • Cut, program, bend, deburr, inspect, and install press nuts, rivets, and other small assemblies as required.

  • Ability to operate a CNC laser.
  • Ability to operate a CNC punch press.
