Requirements
  • A minimum of one year of recent healthcare experience is preferred.
  • Experience with electrocardiograms, vital signs, venipuncture, capillary procedures, and injections is required.
  • Experience with electronic health records is preferred.
  • Excellent organizational, written and verbal communication, teamwork, and patient experience skills are required.
  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • Completion of a post-secondary medical assisting education program accredited by NJAC 13:35-6.4 and an approved certifying body is required.
  • Current certification from a recognized certifying board approved by the New Jersey Board of Medical Examiners is required.
  • Current Basic Life Support/CPR certification through the American Heart Association is required.
Responsibilities
  • Perform a variety of duties in primary, multispecialty, and specialty ambulatory settings as part of the float team.
  • Assist providers with patient care and perform related clinical tasks.
  • Handle clerical, environmental, and organizational tasks in ambulatory settings.
  • Provide patients with information so they can fully use and benefit from clinical services.
  • Maintain knowledge of regulatory standards and sustain those standards in daily operations.
Desired Qualifications
  • Evidence of a completed externship in a medical office.
