About the Job

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a similar field is required.
  • At least 6 years of Industrial Engineering experience in contract logistics (3PL), high-volume distribution, or manufacturing is required.
  • Proven experience implementing and maintaining Tier-1 Labor Management Systems, such as Easy Metrics, Manhattan, or BlueYonder, is required.
  • Expert-level understanding of WMS data structures, time and motion models, time-study tools such as Laubrass and Quetech, database mapping, and data visualization tools such as Power BI, Python, or SQL is required.
  • The candidate must be able to influence site leadership and present complex engineering return on investment to executive stakeholders.
  • The candidate must be willing to travel as needed for implementations and site audits across the national network.
  • The candidate must be able to stand and walk on concrete warehouse floors for extended periods of 8–10 hours during on-site time studies and implementation go-lives.
  • The candidate must have the manual dexterity to operate a laptop, handheld scanners, and tablet-based time-study software while standing or moving.
  • The candidate must have close visual acuity to analyze data, read WMS code and dashboards, and observe warehouse tasks for time-study validation.
  • The candidate must be able to work in warehouse environments that may vary in temperature, including non-climate-controlled, cold-storage, or high-heat environments.
  • The candidate must be able to troubleshoot abstract data-mapping issues between WMS and WPM without a predefined manual.
  • The candidate must have high-level statistical reasoning skills, including understanding standard deviation and mean performance in labor modeling.
  • The candidate must be able to maintain focus during extended data auditing and technical configuration.
  • The candidate must remain alert to warehouse safety protocols and automated equipment while conducting floor-level studies.
  • The candidate must be able to defend objective engineering standards when challenged by operational leadership or site associates.
  • The candidate must be comfortable working independently on-site with local support.
  • The candidate must be willing to support go-live events or audits across multiple shifts, including second and third shifts, when needed.

Responsibilities

  • Lead full-cycle deployment of the labor management system across new or existing facilities on behalf of Operations, including project administration, success-condition assessments, training support, WPM technical configuration, and performance-management culture change.
  • Use Industrial Engineering methodologies to conduct time studies and data analysis to establish, validate, and regularly audit data-driven labor standards for warehouse activities.
  • Support technical data mapping between Warehouse Management Systems, time-and-attendance software, and the WPM; map disparate data exports into a unified reporting structure for comparable productivity metrics across the network.
  • Serve as national WPM administrator, managing system governance, user hierarchies, and configuration updates as operational needs change.
  • Conduct recurring audits of established sites to verify data integrity, identify standard drift, and confirm site leadership is using the system to drive labor efficiency.
  • Design and maintain labor models accounting for the different requirements of dedicated-client facilities and multi-customer environments where labor is shared.
  • Develop and deliver training programs for General Managers and Supervisors, translating engineering data into operational insights and supporting a performance-based culture.
  • Analyze long-term productivity trends and partner with operational leadership to implement Lean or engineering-driven process improvements.
  • Manage national WPM governance across the warehouse network; the role may include managing 1–5 direct reports, such as analysts, engineers, or regional Industrial Engineering support.
  • Travel up to 50% nationally to warehouse sites for implementations, recurring audits, and troubleshooting.

Desired Qualifications

  • Eight to ten or more years of experience is preferred.
  • Direct experience with Easy Metrics is highly preferred; secondary preferences include Tier-1 WPM implementations such as Manhattan Labor Management, BlueYonder (JDA), or TZA ProTrack.
  • Experience mapping data from multiple Tier-1 and Tier-2 WMS systems, such as Manhattan, BlueYonder, SAP EWM, or HighJump/Korber, is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Power BI or Tableau to create executive-level cost-to-serve dashboards beyond native WPM reporting is preferred.
  • Competency in SQL for auditing raw data exports and troubleshooting integration errors at the source is preferred.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification is preferred for post-implementation process optimization.
  • PMP certification or similar formal methodology training for large-scale deployments is preferred.
  • Experience in a 3PL environment and understanding how labor standards affect open-book versus closed-book contracts and client billing is preferred.
  • Experience managing a Center of Excellence or centralized engineering function supporting more than 20 geographically dispersed facilities is preferred.
  • Experience designing or maintaining incentive or gainshare programs based on WPM data, including the legal and operational guardrails required for success, is preferred.
