About the job
- Have 2–4 years of related or cross-industry experience.
- Have a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Demonstrate standard computer-based skills.
- Demonstrate effective oral and verbal communication skills.
- Be able to travel 25% of the time.
- Successfully pass the Plant Operator Selection System/Power Plant Operations and Maintenance program (POSS/MASS) to be considered.
- Maintain basic operational knowledge of plant systems, including five GE 7EA combustion turbines and two GE 7HA combustion turbines.
- Operate equipment within specifications and environmental regulations under the direction of skilled Plant Technicians.
- Continue learning proper equipment function and perform maintenance at a gas plant in the gas fleet.
- Promote safe, effective, and reliable plant operation.
- Assist with or perform troubleshooting, preventive and corrective maintenance, daily maintenance, construction, demolition, overhauls, repairs and replacements, and removal and installation of plant equipment and structures.
- Provide skills for maintaining plant equipment.
- Perform clearances in LOTOV under the direction of a senior operator or supervisor.
- Use and operate hand, power, precision, and machine tools needed to support safe and productive work.
- Maintain working knowledge of electronic control systems and computers.
- Understand and follow current safety and environmental regulations throughout all phases of work.
- Follow safety, health, and environmental procedures for plant operations and maintenance, including Lockout Tagout, Job Safety Analysis, Confined Space, Hot Work, Electrical Safety, and personal protective equipment.
- Progress in skills within the primary skill set and satisfactorily complete Tier 2 job performance measures, primarily sign-offs demonstrating primary and auxiliary system operations and maintenance.
- Continually improve job skills and knowledge.
