About the job
- A degree or apprenticeship in mechatronics, robotics, or an equivalent field is required.
- Proven ability to work independently in the field, diagnose problems under pressure, and perform quick, effective repairs without immediate supervision is required.
- Ability to follow structured procedures, deployment checklists, safety protocols, and quality standards in dynamic environments is required.
- Willingness and ability to travel to field locations, sometimes on short notice, is required.
- Interest in maintaining and operating robotics systems is required.
- Working proficiency in English is required.
- Independently diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and software issues under time pressure and changing conditions, using established ticketing systems.
- Collect operational data, monitor system logs, and provide insights to engineering teams for system refinement.
- Perform scheduled maintenance routines, visual inspections, and component replacements to maximize system uptime and extend hardware life.
- Assist with robot assembly, subsystem integration, and quality checks during production runs to ensure builds meet engineering specifications.
- Create, update, and refine work instructions, standard operating procedures, and deployment checklists based on field learnings and evolving best practices.
- Track spare parts, consumables, and tooling; coordinate restocking and ensure field kits are complete and deployment-ready.
- Uphold workplace health and safety standards in workshop and field environments, including proper handling of batteries, electrical systems, and heavy equipment.
- Work with software, hardware, and operations engineers to relay field observations, validate fixes, and support iterative design improvements.
- Support structured testing campaigns in the lab and field by following test protocols, recording results, and flagging anomalies for engineering review.
- Support maintenance, testing, and operation of robotic systems, and assist with production processes and process improvement.
- Flexibility for shifts or extended hours during critical operations is desirable.
- Prior experience with operations of robotics or equivalent is desirable.
