Stripe builds payment software that businesses of all sizes plug into their websites and apps to accept money online and in person. After its public launch in 2011, it won over internet startups by letting developers start taking payments with a few lines of code. Businesses use it to take cards and digital wallets, block fraud, bill subscriptions, and pay out sellers on online marketplaces, while Stripe earns a fee on each payment plus charges for add-on tools. Irish brothers Patrick and John Collison founded Stripe in 2010, and it is based in South San Francisco, California, and Dublin, Ireland. In 2016, John Collison, then 26, became the world's youngest self-made billionaire.

Inclusive coverage - We provide a thoughtful and balanced set of benefits that allow Stripes to be their best selves and do great work. Whether that means offering comprehensive mental, physical, and medical health plans, supporting Stripes' financial futures, providing fertility benefits and parental leave, or making sure Stripes have access to healthy food at the office, our robust programs put Stripes and their families first.
Growth by way of learning - We are voracious learners and teachers. Our Education team delivers an onboarding and product training curriculum for all new Stripes, and hosts expert-led courses on things like project management fundamentals and macroeconomics. Beyond the formal program, Stripes are constantly sharing knowledge with each other through conversation, documentation, reading groups, and informal talks.
A principled approach to food - The food program holds a special place in Stripe's history and future. These Stripes come to our kitchen from a breadth of backgrounds and experiences, and focus on one proposition—respect. This is apparent not only in the local ingredients they work with or in the gracious, teamwork-driven buffet lines, but also in their approach to growing a global team through sustainable food practices and minimal waste.
Excited to announce that we are joining Stripe! 🎉 Today, I can share the exciting news that Stripe has acquired Sumatra's realtime decisioning platform and team to enhance its capabilities in fraud prevention, conversion optimization, and realtime machine learning. Lucas and I founded Sumatra 4+ years ago, motivated by seeing firsthand the enormous value that realtime machine learning can bring to applications like fraud prevention and quantitative finance. I’m proud of the work the team has done to make this technology broadly available by creating a developer experience accessible to users at all levels from machine learning engineers to non-technical business users. We are thrilled to continue the journey as part of a company with such a well-aligned vision, global reach, and world-class reputation for getting the details right. To our valued customers: We have already reached out individually to discuss how this acquisition will impact your services. We are committed to ensuring a smooth transition. Thank you to our investors (S3 Ventures, Sentiero Ventures, DataPower Ventures, AiSprouts VC, Tal Tversky), advisors (Larry Warnock, Mike Turner, Scott Einaugler), partners, and current and former employees for helping us reach this gratifying milestone. Your support and belief in our vision has been instrumental in our success. Time to get to work increasing the GDP of the internet. | 78 comments on LinkedIn
Ripple is bringing wallet technology from Stripe-owned Privy to the XRP Ledger, letting apps and AI agents hold funds and make payments without anyone managing keys. Developers can build wallets inside their products to authorise transfers in XRP, Ripple's dollar-pegged RLUSD stablecoin, and other assets issued on the network. Users never touch a secret key, though Privy supports exporting keys or a recovery phrase. Companies can give AI agents funded wallets on their own servers to pay for online services through x402, a standard for buying access to data. Policy controls and fee-covering tools are still to come. RippleX's head of engineering, J. Ayo Akinyele, said the network has processed more than 13 million agent payments through x402, roughly 25% of ledger activity. Those payments carried only about $22,000 in total. XRP trades at $1.3675, giving it a market cap of $86.269 billion.
