The Einstein Crisis Response Center (CRC) is a 24/7 service providing immediate evaluation and treatment to individuals experiencing behavioral health crises. The Per Diem Psychiatrist provides direct clinical care to adult and older adult patients presenting to the CRC, including psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, disposition planning, and management of patients requiring inpatient or outpatient services.

Job Description

The Einstein Crisis Response Center (CRC) is a 24/7 service providing immediate evaluation and treatment to individuals experiencing behavioral health crises. The Per Diem Psychiatrist provides direct clinical care to adult and older adult patients presenting to the CRC, including psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, disposition planning, and management of patients requiring inpatient or outpatient services.

The Per Diem Psychiatrist works collaboratively with an interdisciplinary clinical team and provides clinical supervision and guidance to residents, medical students, and other trainees as appropriate. Responsibilities may include evaluating admissions and discharges, participating in treatment planning, assessing involuntary admissions in accordance with quality and safety standards, and ensuring compliance with CRC, hospital, departmental, and regulatory policies and procedures.

The psychiatrist may participate in departmental educational activities, clinical conferences, and other meetings or activities as assigned by the Medical Director or Department Chair. The Per Diem Psychiatrist will also collaborate with the Philadelphia Department of Behavioral Health and Disability Services (DBHIDS) and other community agencies as appropriate to facilitate continuity of care and appropriate disposition planning.

This position provides services to adult, older adult, and frail elderly populations in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of the functional and developmental needs of the individuals served.

Education, Training & Experience

• M.D. or D.O. from an accredited medical school required.
• Completion of an accredited psychiatry residency program required.
• Experience in emergency psychiatry preferred.

Licensure & Certification

• Valid and unrestricted license to practice medicine in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania required.
• Board certified or board eligible in Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN) required.
• Additional subspecialty qualifications preferred.
