Requirements
  • The candidate must be at least 18 years old.
  • The candidate must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • The candidate must have knowledge of sports.
  • The candidate must have at least one year of experience working with children.
  • The candidate must have customer service skills and be able to respond to questions by phone, email, and in person, solve problems, and resolve conflicts.
  • The candidate must have computer skills and experience using word-processing, spreadsheet, and database software.
  • The candidate must know how to use standard office equipment, including fax machines, copiers, and phone systems.
  • The candidate must have a current state-approved first-aid certification at hire or complete the training as soon as possible, no later than 90 days after employment.
  • The candidate must have a current state-approved infant/child or community CPR certification at hire or complete the training as soon as possible, no later than 90 days after employment.
Responsibilities
  • Assist with delivering culturally relevant and developmentally appropriate activities for assigned youth sports programs.
  • Assist with conducting staff meetings and trainings.
  • Provide guidance, leadership, and direction to youth sports instructors, referees, and volunteers as needed.
  • Engage professionally with parents and guardians to provide pertinent information about their child's experience and promote upcoming programs.
  • Ensure supplies are clean and safe and are properly set up and stored; report equipment problems to the supervisor.
  • Attend required staff meetings and trainings.
  • Use a computer for extended periods, communicate using a computer and phone or smart device, move around the work environment, and occasionally lift or move up to 10 pounds.
Desired Qualifications
  • Knowledge of and previous experience with diverse populations, including differences in language, culture, race, physical activity, and sexual orientation.
  • Ability to speak a language in addition to English may be helpful.
  • Other applicable education, training, and experience that provide the knowledge, abilities, and skills necessary to perform effectively in the position will be considered.
