About the job

Requirements
  • A track record of growing scaled brands, ideally from $250 million or more in revenue to $500 million and beyond; supplements and wellness brands are a plus.
  • A career foundation in brand management, marketing or growth, or strategy consulting before moving into commercial and general management.
  • Expertise in taking direct-to-consumer brands into new channels and understanding the opportunities and pitfalls of those channels.
  • A data-driven, high-accountability approach to holding teams and investment dollars accountable to quantitative measures.
  • Financial fluency with EBITDA, lifetime value/customer acquisition cost, product contribution margin, and inventory turns, and using data to inform major decisions.
  • A clear leadership philosophy and effective operating system, including setting strategy, building and motivating teams, maintaining high standards, and giving people accountability, autonomy, and growth opportunities; combining big-company discipline with startup nimbleness and urgency.
  • At least 10 years of experience in consumer brands and at least 5 years in roles with P&L ownership.
  • A Bachelor's degree.
Responsibilities
  • Take end-to-end accountability for the business, including brand, product, customer, marketing, and commercial strategy.
  • Sharpen brand positioning, brand architecture, and the product portfolio based on consumer insight; establish how brand health, including awareness, consideration, trust, and loyalty, is measured and managed alongside the P&L.
  • Protect and grow the core direct-to-consumer and subscription business while building an omnichannel roadmap across Amazon and other marketplaces, retail, and potential sales channels; sequence channel expansion based on its economics and operational rigor to benefit the business overall.
  • Own subscriber retention and lifetime value as core brand levers, and build a consumer insights capability to inform product, messaging, and channel decisions.
  • Manage and grow multiple product categories under one brand, using a portfolio approach to determine investment priorities and identify future growth opportunities.
  • Strengthen current leaders, identify capability gaps, and recruit the talent needed to scale; foster a culture rooted in ownership, performance, and urgency.
  • Maintain detailed fluency in financial performance metrics, including customer acquisition cost, lifetime value, contribution margin, channel mix, and EBITDA, and balance near-term profitability with investments in long-term brand equity.
  • Operate hands-on with urgency, engaging in details as needed while maintaining a broader view and advancing an established brand.
  • Represent the business unit and company as a prepared, rigorous, and empathetic executive leader.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience building a foundation at a scaled consumer packaged goods company and succeeding in founder-led, startup, or private-equity- or venture-capital-backed businesses.
  • Experience in vitamins, minerals and supplements, nutrition, consumer health, personal care, or other adjacent regulated categories.
  • Experience running a brand within a multi-brand company, holding company, or incubator.
  • Experience using customer data and research to improve subscription retention and lifetime value.
  • International expansion experience.
  • Experience with healthcare practitioner sales channels.
  • At least 14 years of experience in consumer brands and at least 5 years in roles with P&L ownership.
  • An MBA.
