Payhawk has opened a Warsaw office and established Poland as a standalone commercial region with a dedicated team. The AI-native spend management platform said the expansion follows nearly 30% growth in demand from Polish businesses over the past year, achieved without a local sales presence. The move comes as Poland becomes the first large EU economy since Italy to mandate B2B e-invoicing through KSeF. Payhawk research among 1,520 finance and business leaders across Europe and the US found that whilst 57% say at least one spend process is highly optimised, only 7% say all are. Nearly 7,000 businesses across more than 33 countries use Payhawk to manage over €5 billion in annual spend. Earlier this year, the company surpassed $100 million in annual recurring revenue.
Payhawk has opened a Stockholm office to serve as its Nordic regional headquarters, covering Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Norway and Iceland. The AI-native spend management platform recently surpassed $100 million in annual recurring revenue and serves nearly 7,000 businesses across 33 countries, processing over €5 billion yearly. The company will launch SEK accounts, cards and Swedish IBANs in Q4 this year. Payhawk's AI Office of the CFO deploys agents to automate financial tasks, including a Financial Controller Agent for book-closing and a Procurement Agent for purchase orders. The platform integrates with local payment infrastructure, allowing Swedish companies to hold SEK balances and pay suppliers without foreign exchange costs. Around 100 Nordic companies currently use Payhawk, including Swedish manufacturing group CERATIZIT.
Payhawk has launched its Fall '26 Edition, introducing Playbooks — ready-made procedures that automate recurring finance tasks within Claude and ChatGPT. The AI-native spend management platform enables finance teams to execute end-to-end processes through their preferred AI assistants. The Playbooks handle tasks such as closing books, chasing receipts, controlling budgets, and preparing for audits. They access live Payhawk data through a secure Model Context Protocol (MCP) connection that applies user permissions. The release also includes an Implementation Agent that configures Payhawk for new customers in hours by connecting ERP and HR systems, importing data, and setting up workflows. Daniel Raffl, cost manager at TechnoAlpin, noted the enhancements save significant time and simplify data access. Payhawk co-founder Hristo Borisov emphasised the platform focuses on AI that acts rather than just reads data.
Payhawk, a London-based spend management platform, has surpassed $100 million in annual recurring revenue, reaching "centaur" status. The company expects to process one in every 500 commercial card payments in Europe by Q4 2026. The firm has rebuilt its operations around AI agents over the past two years. ARR per employee increased 75% year-on-year to approximately $238,000. AI now resolves 76% of support requests, whilst the sales team generated 159% more business with 10% fewer staff. Total payment volume is growing 95% year-on-year. The company has burned roughly $120 million since its 2018 founding to reach $100 million ARR, achieving a 1.2x burn multiple whilst deploying only half its raised capital. New AI-native products include autonomous travel booking and invoice gathering agents.
Payhawk, an AI-native spend management platform, has released its Summer '26 Edition, introducing enterprise-grade features designed to reduce operational complexity for finance teams. The update includes native integration with SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud, role-based visibility controls and expanded global payment capabilities. New research from Payhawk involving 1,520 finance and business leaders found that only 14% have successfully integrated spend control, consolidation and automation, with limited improvement as companies scale. Key features include unified invoice capture handling compliant e-invoices, emailed PDFs and supplier-portal invoices through AI, plus EU-wide e-invoicing capabilities. The platform now supports Swiss francs, Danish krone and Polish złoty, alongside payments to over 115 currencies across 150-plus countries, enabling teams to operate without opening local banks in each market.
