Updation teams up with US Bank to modernise dealership payments with real-time options

U.S. Bank and Updation, an AI-powered accounts payable and vendor management platform for car, truck, RV, and powersports dealerships, have announced a collaboration to streamline dealers' payments and financial operations. Updation will use U.S. Bank Embedded Payment Solutions, including a for-benefit-of (FBO) account structure. Funds are held and moved within a bank-managed framework, which adds controls and means Updation does not directly handle customer funds. Updation clients can move beyond certified checks to options such as real-time payments. "That creates a faster, more efficient payment experience for dealerships," said Joe Voica, head of embedded payments at U.S. Bank. Updation chief executive officer Layton Judd said the deal brings accounting intelligence, workflow, and payments into one platform.

Red Robin completes $115M refinancing after selling 108 restaurants for $89.4M

Red Robin Gourmet Burgers completed refinancing of its secured credit facility on 2 October 2026. The new $115 million facility comprises a $25 million revolving line of credit and a $90 million term loan, maturing in October 2031. The refinancing follows Red Robin's sale of 108 company-owned restaurants to three franchisees for approximately $89.4 million in gross proceeds. An additional eight restaurants are expected to be sold by year-end for $6.6 million, bringing total proceeds to approximately $96 million from 116 restaurants.
