Requirements
  • A Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field with 18 years of experience, or a Master of Science degree with 14 years of experience.
  • A solid track record of releasing complex integrated circuits or intellectual property to market.
  • Extensive knowledge of engineering processes, principles, and methodologies.
  • Experience simplifying complex problems into smaller problems and solving them as a team.
  • Ability to clearly articulate issues, challenges, and concerns to all levels of management.
  • Strong understanding of power converters such as buck converters, boost converters, low-dropout regulators, gate drivers, comparators, linear regulators, transconductance stages, and relevant analog building blocks.
  • Strong understanding of control-loop theories, topologies, and architectures for constant-on-time, peak-current-mode, valley-current-mode, and voltage-mode control loops.
  • Strong analog integrated-circuit design skills and ability to debug complex silicon problems using simulations or bench testing.
  • Familiarity with advanced bipolar, complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor, and high-voltage BCD technology, process and device physics, semiconductor manufacturing processes, and their impact on analog performance.
  • Understanding of large-power-transistor LDMOS design, layout, and robustness.
  • Proficiency with leading-edge design and verification tools such as Simplis, MATLAB, and Cadence Spectre for architectural simulations, schematic capture, simulation, layout, and tape-out.
  • Ability to establish strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to quickly ramp up on new systems and processes.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in teams and collaborate effectively with people in different functions.

Responsibilities
  • Lead an analog integrated-circuit design team with product ownership and responsibility from definition through release to manufacturing.
  • Assign work to team members, provide design guidance, develop schedules, and monitor progress throughout projects.
  • Evaluate intermediate and final project results during design and silicon evaluation to ensure technical objectives are achieved.
  • Work with and provide guidance to physical designers while monitoring integrated-circuit layout progress.
  • Work with systems engineering, applications engineering, and marketing to prepare product briefs, data sheets, and application notes; assist in defining products to meet customer needs; and contribute to roadmap formulation and new-concept creation.
  • Define and execute intellectual-property test plans in collaboration with product and test engineers.
  • Define and manage intellectual-property quality standards for industrial and automotive applications.
  • Collaborate with validation, product engineering, and test engineering teams to enable successful transfer to production.
  • Lead discussions with customers and onsemi field-sales or field-applications teams to understand customer designs and problems and provide support as required.
  • Participate in hiring, developing, and evaluating personnel to ensure efficient organizational operation and individual growth into leadership roles.
  • Provide technical leadership in architecture and circuit design based on high-level specifications.
  • Own the technical outcomes of design, verification, implementation, and execution of power-management integrated circuits spanning simple regulators, complex designs, control loops, and digital interfaces.
  • Understand project goals, create realistic schedules and resource plans, track execution against plans, monitor progress, and provide clarity to the team on goals and objectives.
  • Mentor analog integrated-circuit design engineers.
