Crisp is an online supermarket in the Netherlands that sells groceries through an e-commerce platform without a subscription, delivering to most of the country. Customers shop online and choose flexible delivery times, with real-time track-and-trace, a 50-euro minimum order, and delivery fees that vary by location (2.95–8.95 euros) but are free for large orders. It differentiates itself with nationwide delivery (excluding the Wadden Islands and Kaageiland), transparent pricing, a focus on product quality and freshness, and a commitment to fair pay for producers, packers, and delivery workers. The goal is to make grocery shopping convenient and affordable while clearly labeling organic options and ensuring fair treatment of workers.

Online supermarket Crisp has secured €25 million in a new funding round from existing shareholders. The capital will support expansion and growth initiatives. The investment will finance a new sustainable distribution centre, AI development, and expansion within the food sector. This includes the recent acquisition of corporate lunch specialist De Buurtboer. Funds will also support private label products and organic range expansion. The funding coincides with operational milestones. Crisp's first deliveries from its new Amsterdam distribution centre launch this month. The facility has an A+++++ energy label and generates its own electricity, operating nearly self-sufficiently. The move doubles Crisp's operational capacity for consumer and business segments. The location also accommodates an expanded production kitchen, addressing growing demand for freshly prepared meals.

Crisp, an online supermarket, has secured a €28 million loan from ABN Amro to fuel its growth. The funding will be used for strategic investments, including expanding its product range, enhancing supply chain technology, and applying AI. Part of the loan replaces previous US venture capital, aligning with Crisp's preference for a long-term partnership with a Dutch financial entity. Boukje Taphoorn joins the board as an independent commissioner. Crisp achieved profitability in the Netherlands in June 2024.
Grocery app Crisp has raised $37 million to enhance its seasonal/local food-focused delivery service. The Amsterdam-based company announced the funding in a Thursday (Nov. 16) press release, saying it would help Crisp deliver “better food for the many” in its core markets of the Netherlands and Belgium. “A fully proprietary software and operations system specifically built for local and seasonal products and the shortest route from farm to fork,” the company said in the release. “Crisp allows country-wide customers to shop from over 900 small-scale suppliers, proving circularity, no waste and responsible farming can have its place in the mass market.”
