Hasbro moves HQ from Rhode Island to Boston after 100 years, putting 587 jobs at risk

Hasbro, maker of Monopoly and Dungeons and Dragons, is moving its headquarters from Pawtucket, Rhode Island, to Boston after nearly 100 years. A WARN notice filed with Rhode Island covers about 587 employees, though the numbers are not confirmed. Affected staff have been offered jobs in Boston starting January 4, 2027. Those who do not transfer are expected to lose their jobs from December 24, 2026. The company first said at least 700 full-time employees were expected to move. The filing does not explain the gap. The move comes despite strong results. Second-quarter 2026 revenue rose 16% and operating profit was about $253 million. Hasbro plans to sell its Pawtucket headquarters after the move.

Disney+ dumped them, Netflix walked away, and now Amazon wants the Power Rangers.

Disney+ dumped them, Netflix walked away, and now Amazon wants the Power Rangers. It's go-go time for Power Rangers fans, but only after a very long wait. The hunt for a home for the next live-action Power Rangers series has stretched across multiple streamers, and every promising lead seems to power down before it reaches the screen. Watch next. The franchise that began in 1993 with 'Mighty Morphin Power Rangers' has spawned plenty of seasons, offshoots and movies since. Its most recent chapters landed on Netflix, including 'Power Rangers Dino Fury', 'Power Rangers Cosmic Fury' and the 2023 reunion special 'Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once & Always', which marked the 30th anniversary. Since then, though, fans have had very little to cheer about on the live-action front. Hasbro has owned the brand since buying it from Saban in 2018, and it has been trying to launch a fresh live-action series ever since. A Netflix project that spent more than 2 years in development eventually stopped moving forward in 2024, with Hasbro saying it would explore a new creative direction with a new partner. That partner appeared to be found in March 2025, when 'Percy Jackson and the Olympians' showrunners Jonathan E. Steinberg and Dan Shotz were reported to be developing a reinvention for Disney+. Hasbro would produce, with 20th Television as the studio. Then, in August 2026, Deadline reported that Disney+ had cancelled the project. Now comes the latest twist. According to recent insider chatter, Amazon is in active talks to take over development of a new Power Rangers project for Prime Video. Some versions of the rumor say the discussions could involve either a TV series or a movie, and no official details about format or release plans have been confirmed. It's important to stress that this remains unconfirmed. Neither Amazon nor Hasbro has publicly commented, so fans should treat the news as a rumor rather than a done deal. Still, the possibility gives the franchise a fresh route forward after 2 high-profile setbacks. The reasons behind the Disney+ cancellation matter here. Deadline reported that the decision was driven by budget rather than creative differences. Delivering the elaborate costumes, effects and large-scale action that modern audiences expect for a Power Rangers show requires a big investment. There was also a business question at play. Because Hasbro owns the brand, Disney had to weigh whether spending that kind of money on another company's property made sense when it could fund projects from its own portfolio. That logic doesn't apply the same way to every streamer, which may be why a deep-pocketed rival is now interested. Amazon has already shown a willingness to work with Hasbro. Nerdist previously noted that Amazon MGM Studios and Hasbro were working on a live-action 'Jem and the Holograms' series, and it even suggested Hasbro should partner with Amazon on a live-action 'Power Rangers' show. A 'Masters of the Universe' movie, another toy-driven franchise, also moved to Amazon MGM Studios with a June 2026 release date. The comparison isn't perfect, but the similarities are hard to ignore. Both brands are decades-old toy properties with devoted nostalgic fan bases and a lot of untapped potential. Ubergizmo's report also notes that Amazon has been aggressively expanding its catalog of major intellectual properties and nerd-culture staples to drive long-term subscriber engagement. While the live-action series searches for a home, Hasbro has kept the brand visible in other ways. It has been releasing a 4K remastered version of the original series, titled 'Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Re-Ignition', on YouTube, along with bite-sized shorts drawn from the 1990s episodes. It also licensed a new toy line to Playmates, which launched in the fall of 2025. The comics are keeping things going too. BOOM! Studios launched 'Power Rangers Prime' in November 2024, an ongoing series that reimagines the mythos for a new era. Together, these efforts show that Hasbro is working to keep interest alive until a major screen project finally lands. The franchise's recent history on the big screen has also been bumpy. The 2017 'Power Rangers' reboot reportedly earned about $142 million worldwide against a $100 million budget, which was seen as a disappointment despite generally positive reception. It's a reminder that success for this property depends on the right budget and the right partner. For now, fans will need patience. A rumored negotiation is a long way from a greenlight, and the franchise has been burned by false starts before. But if the talks lead somewhere, Prime Video could finally give the Rangers the home they've been missing. Would you like to see a new live-action Power Rangers series on Prime Video? Have something to add? Let Comic Basics know in the comments!

Bib & Tucker Bourbon and Hasbro launch limited-edition Monopoly: Bib & Tucker Collector's Edition.

Bib & Tucker Bourbon and Hasbro launch limited-edition Monopoly: Bib & Tucker Collector's Edition. Published on 10/14/2026 at 01:20 pm EDT S&P Capital IQ Bib & Tucker Bourbon and Hasbro created MONOPOLY: Bib & Tucker Collector's Edition, a limited-edition, officially licensed Monopoly board game. The limited-edition board game brings together two distinctly American stories rooted in imagination, shared experience, and the spirit of possibility. MONOPOLY: Bib & Tucker Collector's Edition transports players into Bib & Tucker's world of turn-of-the-century progress, adventure, and discovery?creating a holiday gift designed to be played, shared, and collected. MONOPOLY: Bib & Tucker Collector's Edition transforms the game into an immersive journey through turn-of-the-century America, an era that inspires the brand. The collaboration reimagines six designs from the brand's Magnificent Marvels Collection as custom game tokens, while bringing the world of Bib & Tucker to the board through the places, inventions, and routes that defined the period and the making of Tennessee bourbon. The Magnificent Marvels Collection is Bib & Tucker's annual limited-edition bottle topper program inspired by the inventions, icons, and innovations that shaped America's age of progress. Over six seasons, Bib & Tucker has celebrated Lady Liberty, the Steam Engine, the Motorcycle, the Street Car, the Gas-Powered Car and, in 2026, the Vitascope. MONOPOLY: Bib & Tucker Collector's Edition takes the full collection off the bottle and onto the game board for the first time. Players leave Atlantic City behind and step back into an age when new roads were opening, inventions were reshaping everyday life, and American whiskey was making its way west. Familiar Monopoly spaces take on a distinctly Bib & Tucker twist: Rickhouse Row, Lincoln County, and the Statue of Liberty anchor the board; Frontier Fortunes and Community Crate introduce new surprises; Angel's Share replaces Income Tax; and the B&T Express keeps players moving through a world inspired by Tennessee whiskey and turn-of-the-century ingenuity. Designed for bourbon collectors, whiskey enthusiasts, and adult Monopoly fans of legal drinking age, the limited-edition release offers a new way to bring people together around the table during the gifting season and beyond. This year, Bib & Tucker's limited-edition Magnificent Marvels Collection bottle topper celebrates the Vitascope, the invention that forever revolutionized how people shared stories. The 2026 Vitascope topper caps select holiday bottles of Bib & Tucker The Classic Six, the brand's flagship Tennessee small-batch bourbon. Bib & Tucker charcoal mellows The Classic Six through the Lincoln County Process, ages it a minimum of six years and bottles it at 92 proof, 46% ABV, in a 750mL bottle. The bourbon leads with vanilla and sweet hay on the nose, accented by sandalwood and mace, enters the palate smoothly with a hint of pecan pie sweetness, and finishes long on its signature chestnut note. MONOPOLY: Bib & Tucker Collector's Edition goes on sale October 14, 2026, and remains available while supplies last. The SRP for MONOPOLY: Bib & Tucker Collector's Edition is $29.99 on its own and $74.99 bundled with a 750mL bottle of Bib & Tucker The Classic Six. Bib & Tucker The Classic Six with the 2026 Vitascope topper carries an SRP of $49.99. (C) S&P Capital IQ - 2026

Bib & Tucker brings bourbon to the Monopoly board with holiday collector's edition.

Bib & Tucker brings bourbon to the Monopoly board with holiday collector's edition. COLUMBIA, Tenn. - Bib & Tucker is bringing its Tennessee bourbon heritage to game night with a limited-edition Monopoly collector's edition featuring custom tokens, whiskey-inspired board spaces and a holiday gift bundle. The officially licensed MONOPOLY: Bib & Tucker Collector's Edition launches Oct. 14 exclusively on ReserveBar.com, while supplies last. The game carries a suggested retail price of $29.99, with a $74.99 bundle pairing the board game with a 750-milliliter bottle of Bib & Tucker The Classic Six topped with the brand's new collectible Vitascope cap. Owned by Deutsch Family Wine & Spirits, Bib & Tucker collaborated with Hasbro to reimagine the familiar game through the turn-of-the-century American inventions, transportation and exploration that inspire the bourbon brand. Instead of navigating Monopoly's traditional Atlantic City properties, players encounter spaces such as Rickhouse Row, Lincoln County and the Statue of Liberty. Frontier Fortunes and Community Crate introduce surprises, Angel's Share replaces Income Tax, and the B&T Express provides another connection to the game's Tennessee whiskey setting. The six custom playing tokens draw from Bib & Tucker's Magnificent Marvels Collection, an annual holiday bottle topper series celebrating inventions and icons associated with America's age of progress. The collection has featured Lady Liberty, the Steam Engine, the Motorcycle, the Street Car and the Gas-Powered Car. This year's addition, the Vitascope, completes the lineup represented on the board. The playing pieces are modeled on the topper designs but are separate collectibles. "Great American traditions have a way of bringing people together, and few do that better than bourbon and Monopoly," said Jack Shanahan, brand manager for Bib & Tucker. Shanahan said the partnership offers another way to experience the history behind the brand's six years of holiday collectibles. "Through our Magnificent Marvels Collection, we've spent six years celebrating the inventions that changed how people lived, traveled, and connected, commemorating each with a collectible bottle topper inspired by the innovation itself," he said. "Bringing those icons onto the Monopoly board gives fans a new way to experience that history while creating new memories of their own." The 2026 Vitascope topper celebrates the motion-picture projection technology that debuted in 1896 and helped introduce projected moving pictures to American audiences. The design continues the collection's focus on innovations that changed how people shared experiences. Select holiday bottles of Bib & Tucker The Classic Six feature the new topper. The bottles began arriving Oct. 1 at participating retailers in select markets, including Kentucky, with a suggested retail price of $49.99. The Classic Six is the brand's flagship Tennessee small-batch bourbon. It is charcoal mellowed through the Lincoln County Process, aged at least six years and bottled at 92 proof, or 46% alcohol by volume. The brand describes the bourbon's aroma as vanilla and sweet hay accented by sandalwood and mace, followed by pecan pie sweetness on the palate and a lingering chestnut finish. For shoppers comparing the holiday offerings, the standalone $29.99 game includes the board and six custom tokens without whiskey. The $74.99 ReserveBar bundle adds a bottle of The Classic Six carrying the Vitascope topper. The $49.99 retail bottle includes the collectible topper without the board game. On ReserveBar, the Vitascope-topped bottle is available only as part of the Monopoly bundle. Standalone bottles are offered through participating retailers in the designated markets. The limited-edition game and bottle collection are marketed to bourbon collectors, whiskey enthusiasts and Monopoly fans of legal drinking age. Additional information about the brand is available at bibandtuckerbourbon.com.
