About the Job

Requirements

  • A Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field is required.
  • At least 10 years of experience in power semiconductor product development is required; experience with silicon carbide is preferred.
  • A solid understanding of power device behavior, packaging interactions, and reliability concepts sufficient to guide product-level decisions is required.
  • Strong execution, coordination, and communication skills across global cross-functional teams are required.
  • The candidate must be able to manage complex new product development programs and drive closure without direct design authority.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as Engineering Product Owner for silicon carbide JFET products, with product-level engineering ownership and execution across die, discrete devices, and power module products.
  • Focus on product definition, development coordination, execution governance, and qualification readiness, aligning technology development, product engineering, packaging, test, reliability, quality, and manufacturing teams throughout the new product development lifecycle.
  • Define product requirements for silicon carbide JFET die, discrete, and power module products; translate business, system, and customer requirements into actionable engineering deliverables; ensure consistent product intent across die, discrete, and module implementations; and manage tradeoffs among performance, reliability, cost, and schedule.
  • Integrate and align technology development, product engineering, packaging, test, reliability, quality, and manufacturing teams; drive alignment on interfaces, dependencies, deliverables, and milestones; identify execution gaps, conflicts, and risks; and facilitate resolution through the appropriate technical owners.
  • Ensure technical decisions are made by the appropriate design authorities without directly owning die or package design decisions.
  • Own product-level risk registers for design, reliability, qualification, and manufacturing risks; drive mitigation plans and monitor execution across functions.
  • Lead product design reviews, qualification readiness reviews, and execution checkpoints, ensuring adherence to new product development gate requirements and engineering governance processes.
  • Own complex product-level technical and execution issues; lead cross-functional task forces addressing critical product risks, qualification failures, reliability issues, and schedule threats; drive root-cause analysis and effective corrective actions; and manage escalations by defining problem statements, risks, options, and recommended paths forward.
  • Own product-level qualification strategy and alignment with AEC/AQG and customer requirements; coordinate with reliability, failure analysis, and product engineering teams to interpret qualification results and assess product-level impact; ensure issues are dispositioned with containment, corrective action, and documented learning; and incorporate lessons learned into product best-known methods and future programs.
  • Coordinate product readiness for manufacturing handoff, including documentation, test coverage, and product specifications; align development intent with manufacturing capability; and support yield learning, ramp readiness, and post-release issue management.
  • Provide executive-level reporting on product status, risks, qualification readiness, and recovery plans; translate technical and execution challenges into decision-ready summaries; consolidate cross-functional inputs into aligned product-level messaging on timelines, dependencies, and tradeoffs; and support leadership reviews, escalation forums, and program checkpoints with data-driven recommendations and clear accountability.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with silicon carbide power semiconductor product development.
