- Advanced knowledge of Department of Defense cybersecurity policies and frameworks, including the Risk Management Framework, National Institute of Standards and Technology standards, and DoD Instructions 8500.01 and 8510.01.
- Knowledge of Information Assurance Vulnerability Management, including Information Assurance Vulnerability Alert compliance and reporting.
- Familiarity with Security Technical Implementation Guides and vulnerability scanning tools.
- Understanding of configuration management principles for secure systems and environments.
- Ability to assess system security posture and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Strong analytical and documentation skills.
- A minimum of Information Assurance Technical Level II certification in accordance with DODM 8570.01.
- At least 8 years of experience in cybersecurity, information assurance, or Risk Management Framework support within a Department of Defense or federal environment.
- Secret clearance is required.
- Support efforts to coordinate and ensure the assessment and authorization of systems in accordance with the Department of Defense Cybersecurity Assessment and Authorization Risk Management Framework process and/or Intelligence Community Directives 503 and Director of Central Intelligence Directive 6/3 guidance, DoD Instructions 8500.01 and 8510.01, and Army Regulation 25-2.
- Provide Information Security engineering support to integrate required security characteristics and requirements into the performance objectives of the selected system.
- Assist in ensuring that systems are protected from known vulnerabilities.
- Support preparation and generation of required security assessment and authorization documentation and coordination with the Authorizing Official to obtain successful system accreditation, including Security Plans, Continuity of Operations Plans, Configuration Management Plans, and Plans of Action and Milestones when required.
- Provide Information Assurance Vulnerability Management support, including assistance with dissemination, installation, Information Assurance Vulnerability Alert reporting, and compliance procedures.
- Provide configuration management support for Information Security software and hardware, maintain software licenses, and ensure security-related documentation is current and accessible to properly authorized individuals.
- Conduct self-assessments, document validation results, and generate Plans of Action and Milestones in support of Control Approval Chain and Package Approval Chain activities in the U.S. Army Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service online database.
- Provide independent validation and assessment support by conducting vulnerability scans, determining Security Technical Implementation Guide checklist compliance, and reviewing Department of Defense, Army, Risk Management Framework, and National Institute of Standards and Technology documentation and other assessment and authorization artifacts to assess the cybersecurity posture of subject systems.
