Requirements
A degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent experience related to the job duties and functions.
Three or more years of civil or construction management work experience, preferably in healthcare or hospital facilities.
Knowledge of construction scheduling methods and building and construction crafts.
Good written and oral English communication.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suites.
Ability to see, hear, walk, drive, climb, reach, stoop, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability to work in construction site conditions including noise, dust, heights, odors, enclosed spaces, unstable footing, stairs, rough terrain, adverse weather, ladders, and roofs.
Physical ability to traverse construction sites, take measurements, perform tests comparing in-place work to contract requirements, and observe work activities throughout construction.
Eligibility to work and ability to pass a federal government background check.
Responsibilities
Provide leadership and mentorship in completing construction work and documenting and inspecting construction quality.
Monitor the construction contractor’s means and methods and provide oversight and direction to ensure compliance with contractual, safety, and quality requirements.
Review contractor submittals for compliance and provide approval or guidance to the government.
Perform field inspections to evaluate work performed and materials used and verify workmanship quality.
Ensure compliance with designs, specifications, standards, applicable codes, and regulations.
Identify and track deficiencies and deviations from plans and work with the construction team to mitigate and resolve them.
Review and implement construction safety and quality programs and ensure health, safety, and environmental regulations are followed.
Review project plans and specifications for technical soundness and determine practicability from a construction management standpoint.
Provide design input and oversight related to constructability and other engineering disciplines.
Visit project sites to obtain facility and site-condition information and develop recommendations during project development.
Support development of procurement packages for design and construction.
Perform other responsibilities associated with the position as appropriate.

Davenergy Solutions, partnering with Planate Management Group (PMG), has been tasked with providing engineering and construction management support for the VA Western Colorado Health Care System. The work assignment will be on-site in Grand Junction, CO.
Requirements

Physical Requirements:

Must be prepared to encounter all construction site conditions, including noise, dust, heights, odors, and enclosed spaces, and be physically capable of traversing sites with unstable footing, stairs, rough terrain, adverse weather, ladders, roofs, and other mobility-challenging conditions. Must possess the physical ability to take measurements, perform tests comparing in-place work to contract requirements, and observe work activities throughout the course of construction.
