About the job

Requirements
  • High agency and the ability to drive work forward without waiting for structure.
  • Strong hands-on engineering ability and technical judgment, including experience owning features and making difficult system decisions.
  • Ability to set and uphold standards for code quality, testing, code review, documentation, post-mortems, and on-call practices.
  • Ability to provide direct, specific technical feedback and make performance decisions.
  • Ability to hire, onboard, and develop engineers as the team grows.
  • Ability to improve team-level productivity through AI.
  • Ability to establish root-cause discipline, run pre-mortems before customer-facing launches, and handle on-call and incident response.
  • Ability to work with Product, with engineering owning how software is built and shipped reliably.
  • Ability to assess banking, KYC, custodian, and other vendor relationships and make build-versus-buy decisions.
  • Customer-focused engineering judgment, with pragmatic risk assessment proportional to the consequences, especially for financial accuracy and compliance across jurisdictions.
  • Ability to tailor communication to engineers, product, leadership, and founders, and to ask questions until issues are understood.
Responsibilities
  • Be accountable for engineering delivery and how work is shipped, spending about half the role hands-on in the codebase, owning features, and making difficult system decisions.
  • Set and uphold engineering standards for code quality, testing, code review, documentation, post-mortems, and on-call.
  • Provide direct, specific technical feedback, address performance issues, and develop engineers through high standards and feedback.
  • Hire, onboard, and develop engineers as the team grows from six to approximately 15–20 over the next two years.
  • Turn individual AI productivity gains into team-level output through how the team works, what it builds, and what it measures.
  • Establish root-cause discipline, conduct pre-mortems before customer-facing launches, and oversee on-call and incident response practices.
  • Partner with Product: Product owns what is shipped, while Engineering owns how it is built to support regular and reliable delivery.
  • Serve as the engineering counterpart for banking, KYC, custodians, and vendor diligence, including build-versus-buy decisions.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience building engineering organizations as a founder, CTO, Head of Engineering, or engineering leader, including without a formal title.
  • Interest in investigating and applying AI to increase engineering output.

Odin launches $6K Delaware SPV to unclog cross-border VC between Europe and US

Odin, a UK-based investment platform, has launched Delaware-based investment vehicles for global investors, aiming to compete with AngelList, Carta and Sydecar. The company argues that whilst venture capital claims to be borderless, cross-border deals remain tangled in legal structures, tax treatments and regional compliance. Founded in 2021 by Patrick Ryan and Mary Lin, Odin's new Delaware Limited Partnership structure can be launched in under two hours, supports multiple currencies including USD, EUR and GBP, and complies with UK and EU regulations. The platform has already administered over 1,500 vehicles and more than $600 million in assets across 100 countries. Pricing starts at $6,000 per deal. Ryan says 25% of deals on Odin's platform already involve US companies, and argues US competitors remain too domestically focused for European investors navigating international regulations.

Roundtable Raises Funding Round On Roundtable

French startup Roundtable has raised a $3.2 million (€3 million) funding round from a hundred business angels. That’s quite a large group of individual investors — but that’s because Roundtable runs an angel investment platform for European startups. Backed by eFounders, the company takes care of the administrative, legal and financial processes involved with startup investments.Roundtable isn’t the first investment platform focused on startup investments. In particular, AngelList popularized the concept of group investments with AngelList Syndicates. Essentially, an angel investor brings an investment opportunity to the platform and other angels can follow the lead angel on a deal-by-deal basis.AngelList isn’t the only company facilitating startup investment. For instance, in the U.K., Seedrs and Odin also manage fundraising deals for startups.Roundtable specifically focuses on European startups and works particularly well for startups based in France, Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg
