Ware Malcomb finishes Gunderson Atlanta office. Ware Malcomb, an award-winning international design firm, today announced construction is complete on a Class A office renovation project for law firm Gunderson Dettmer Stough Villeneuve Franklin & Hachigian, LLP. Ware Malcomb's Atlanta office provided interior design services for the 6,500 SF project, located in the Promenade Tower at 1230 Peachtree Street NE, adjacent to the Woodruff Arts Center and the High Museum in Midtown Atlanta. Image Courtesy of Samuel Ouderkirk With offices located throughout the U.S., Gunderson Dettmer is a leading international firm focused exclusively on the innovation economy, advising startups, growth companies, venture capital firms, and public companies on formation, financing, governance, and strategic transactions. "Our objective was to create a balance between privacy and openness, supporting focused legal work while maintaining a bright, contemporary environment. Our interiors team collaborated closely with the client and contractor to deliver a highly detailed interior, coordinating design intent with construction execution to achieve a cohesive and functional workplace," said Craig Anderchak, Director, Interior Architecture & Design, Ware Malcomb. The renovation addressed the design objectives with a variety of features to promote flexibility, acoustic comfort, and efficient circulation, while providing hospitality-driven amenities for both employees and clients. Distinct spaces within the interior plan include the reception area, main conference room, private offices, open workstations, a custom kitchen, a fully equipped area for client events and entertainment, a separate coffee bar, banquette seating nook, and a mother's wellness room. Custom millwork is the defining element of the space, featuring a natural material palette that flows from the flooring into the millwork and architectural details, balanced by sleek black accents for a refined, professional aesthetic. A central entry sequence features a marble transaction area with overhead acoustical baffles and a curtain added to improve acoustics. Half-height walls define departmental zones while keeping the workspace open and bright, with private offices located behind. High-tech touches in the design include a ceiling-mounted adjustable shading system in the conference room for flexible privacy, along with integrated baffles and curtain elements to serve as acoustic treatments. An opentodeck ceiling condition was maintained throughout the space, complemented by wood-look acoustical baffles that enhance sound control while introducing warmth and texture. General contracting services for the project were provided by Clune Construction.
