Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Science is required.
  • Previous internship, work experience, or knowledge of engineering, automotive, or manufacturing is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of standard Industrial Engineering techniques is required.
  • Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Access, Project, Word, and PowerPoint, is required.
  • The position requires substantial time working in a manufacturing or plant environment.
  • The position may require lifting or carrying items weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • The position requires sitting, standing, and walking, mostly at the incumbent's discretion.
  • Normal visual acuity is required for computer work.
  • Local and overnight travel to CSP facilities is required.
  • The position requires exposure to noise, temperature extremes, moving parts, fumes, and other plant-environment conditions.
  • Design, testing, and analysis must comply with TS and ISO procedures.
  • The role is responsible for ensuring that customer requirements are met.
Responsibilities
  • Create and maintain work standards for direct labor and machine cycle times used for manufacturing performance standards.
  • Perform time studies, line balancing, and capacity analysis using predetermined time-study techniques such as Work Factor and Methods-Time Measurement.
  • Conduct operational studies to maximize workflow and spatial utilization.
  • Create and maintain facility and process layouts using AutoCAD.
  • Plan equipment, office, and production-facility layouts for manufacturing operations optimization.
  • Participate in continuous-improvement projects and cost-reduction programs using lean manufacturing techniques and industrial engineering tools.
  • Perform work-sampling studies for indirect labor to optimize labor and processes and minimize manufacturing costs.
  • Perform capacity analysis and related studies for short- and long-term manufacturing planning.
  • Perform research, testing, data gathering, measurements, and engineering analysis in office, laboratory, and manufacturing environments.
  • Perform engineering support on complex projects or technical assignments with more experienced engineers under the direction of an Industrial Engineering Manager.
  • Design tests or experiments to support project targets when needed.
  • Compile data independently and analyze results for project or team review.
  • Develop increasing engineering knowledge and capability as experience increases.
