Salesforce and Siemens launch ai-powered solutions to transform sales and service.

Salesforce and Siemens launch ai-powered solutions to transform sales and service. Salesforce and Siemens have joined forces to revolutionize the way industrial companies engage in sales and service processes. This transformative partnership introduces a game-changing AI solution, Agentforce, integrated with Siemens' Teamcenter Service Lifecycle Management (SLM). For small business owners in the industrial sector, this collaboration promises to streamline operations, enhance customer relationships, and drive significant growth. One of the standout features of this integration is its ability to deliver rapid, engineering-grade answers directly into customer workflows. This means that where a service technician once had to consult an engineer for critical information during customer interactions, they can now access answers in seconds. For example, before ever visiting a site, technicians can identify the exact spare parts needed for specific serial numbers. Sales representatives can provide quotes that are not only applicable but also manufacturable, eliminating miscommunication and wasted time. Additionally, customers can order the right parts online, bypassing the traditional wait times associated with hotline calls or waiting for engineer responses. Marc Benioff, Chair and CEO of Salesforce, emphasized the significance of this partnership: "We're bringing the best of our technology, expertise, and industry knowledge together to reinvent how work gets done and how customers are served." This streamlined process embodies the shift toward what the companies call the "agentic enterprise" - essentially, organizations that can rapidly respond to customer needs using integrated AI and data solutions. For small businesses, the implications of this advancement are substantial. By compressing traditional processes, which previously took weeks, down to hours, manufacturers can enhance service reliability and tap into aftermarket revenue opportunities. As the press release noted, aftermarket revenue typically grows six times faster than new equipment sales and often enjoys margins four times higher. This could represent a significant opportunity for small firms looking to expand their revenue streams while deepening customer relationships and improving service delivery. Furthermore, Siemens has rolled out Agentforce to enhance its inbound sales strategy. Previously, the company received over 2,500 unqualified leads per month without a clear method for prioritizing them. With Agentforce, these leads are processed efficiently through an engagement and qualification agent setup. The engagement agent reaches out personally, identifying interested prospects who are then vetted for qualification before being handed off to sales personnel. This approach not only increases the conversion rates of inbound leads but also ensures that sales teams focus their efforts on the most promising opportunities, enhancing productivity across the board. Siemens has achieved engagement with 100% of these leads in 132 countries, showcasing the potential scalability of this solution for smaller enterprises. Moreover, the partnership simplifies partner onboarding, addressing a common struggle many small businesses face. Instead of enduring a long wait for feedback after submitting an inquiry, prospective distributors will soon benefit from an AI-driven interface that delivers tailored pitches and immediately connects them with account managers. This innovation is set to streamline the onboarding process from weeks to mere days, allowing small businesses to integrate new suppliers more quickly into their operations. However, small business owners should also consider potential challenges. The reliance on AI systems means that firms will need to invest in training and ensure the technology's compatibility with existing workflows. Additionally, while automation can drive efficiency, it may also require businesses to rethink their customer engagement strategies and training approaches for staff. The transition to an AI-driven workflow may initially meet with resistance, necessitating a robust change management process. Salesforce and Siemens' collaboration showcases the future of industrial sales and service - one where AI technology enables businesses to operate more effectively and responsively. By adopting innovative solutions like Agentforce, small business owners can unlock new levels of engagement, streamline their processes, and ultimately forge deeper relationships with their customers, paving the way for sustained growth in an increasingly competitive landscape. Scania launches 474-mile electric truck in Europe as long-haul EV trucking gains ground.

Scania launches 474-mile electric truck in Europe as long-haul EV trucking gains ground. Megawatt charging system stations are also appearing. by Wyatt Fischer September 21, 2026 Long-haul trucking has been one of the hardest parts of the transportation sector to electrify, largely because heavy-duty fleets need long range, fast refueling, and dependable infrastructure. Europe may be showing signs that greater progress is coming. CleanTechnica reported that on Sept. 15, Scania unveiled a battery-electric truck with up to 720 kilometers, or about 474 miles, of range. Here's what to know. With its new model, Scania is trying to address the core freight-electrification problem of providing enough range while preserving cargo capability and avoiding charging patterns that clash with delivery timetables. "For transport operators, the question is whether an electric truck can cover demanding routes, carry the required load and charge in a way that fits real transport schedules," the company stated. Scania said it increased battery capacity by adding packs behind the cab alongside those mounted in the chassis. Two cab-mounted MP20 packs contribute about 356 kilowatt-hours, and the truck also gets a reworked front end to improve aerodynamics. TCD picks " Quince spotlight. These best-sellers from Quince deliver affordable, sustainable luxury for all Depending on how the truck is configured and operated, Scania said the updated design could reduce energy use by up to 3%. Megawatt charging system stations are also appearing. CleanTechnica said Siemens has introduced equipment that can charge an electric truck from 20% to 80% in about 30 minutes. More background. One major reason the heavy-duty segment has lagged behind passenger EVs is that diesel still offers a much faster refueling experience. Filling a truck with a 200-gallon tank can take about 10 to 20 minutes, while charging a heavy-duty electric truck may still take hours. Even where fast chargers exist, supplying enough electricity to high-powered truck stops can require costly grid upgrades. One possible solution is on-site battery energy storage systems, which can store electricity over time and then deliver rapid charging when trucks arrive. Cleaner trucks could reduce tailpipe pollution while also cutting the climate-warming pollution tied to moving goods. What's being done? Battery-electric trucks are not the only technology moving forward. In Germany, a hydrogen trucking proposal from Volvo Group, Daimler Truck, Toyota Motor Corporation, Bosch, Air Liquide, TotalEnergies, TEAL Mobility, and MB Energy would include refueling stations that can serve up to 100 trucks per day. Daimler Truck says its customer-operated fuel cell trucks in Europe have logged almost 600,000 kilometers (around 372,800 miles), and the company plans to deploy 100 next-generation trucks in 2026. Volvo said the key policy priorities are reducing truck costs, building a more competitive hydrogen supply chain, and offering incentives such as zero-emission toll exemptions. The National Organisation for Sustainable Mobility (NOW) described its mission this way: "Our goal is to advance innovative technologies such as electric mobility and charging infrastructure, hydrogen and fuel cells, and alternative fuels, thereby contributing to the achievement of Germany's climate targets." Polarion X 2606 - What's New and Noteworthy.

Polarion X 2606 - What's New and Noteworthy. Siemens AG is pleased to announce the launch of Polarion X 2606, its latest release that builds upon the foundation of Polarion 2606. (To explore the complete list of updates and improvements for Polarion 2606, please visit Polarion ALM 2606 - What's New and Noteworthy). Polarion X 2606 introduces: * Extended AI integration with the new Polarion Copilot API. * A refreshed look and a Polarion X that speaks your language, including right-to-left support. * Group synchronization between Polarion X and Azure AD in Admin Console. Let's take a closer look at all the new features and enhancements included in Polarion X 2606. Extend AI into your own customizations with the Polarion Copilot API. In 2512, Siemens AG introduced Polarion Copilot to bring AI to engineering processes that demand strict compliance and accurate results. With 2606, Siemens AG is opening it up so you can build on it yourself. The new Polarion Copilot API lets you integrate AI into your own Polarion X customizations. Reports, scripts, widgets, and other custom content can now call the language model connected to Polarion, so you can tailor AI assistance to the way your teams actually work instead of waiting for an out-of-the-box feature. Polarion X follows a bring-your-own-LLM approach: you connect Polarion Copilot to your own language model. This keeps you in full control of where your engineering data goes, in line with your own security and compliance policies, and it gives you the freedom to use a model you've trained or fine-tuned on your own domain knowledge. To use the Polarion Copilot API, you need the Polarion Copilot add-on (available for Standard, Advanced, Automotive, and Premium Polarion X customers) and a connection to your own LLM. Reach out to your Polarion X account manager if you'd like to enable Polarion Copilot and connect your LLM. A more vibrant and familiar look. Polarion X 2606 refines the user interface to align it with the rest of the Siemens product portfolio, while keeping everything where you expect it. You'll notice darker, sleeker brand colors and a new Polarion product icon that fits in with the other Siemens Xcelerator applications you use. Notable refinements include: * Enhanced selection colors for improved visibility. * Command bars updated from grey to warm sand tones. * Restyled notification panels with better text contrast. * More distinct Filter tags in the Visual Query Builder. * Administration updated to the new colors, while staying visually distinct from User Navigation. Colored cells in tables. Tables are now easier to scan. You can configure fields to display a background color in table cells, so statuses, severities, and priorities stand out at a glance. Colored cells are available in Work Items tables, Test Runs, Plans, Live Reports, and Work Item picker dialogs. Polarion X speaks your language. Global teams can now work in the language they're most comfortable with. Every user can select their preferred Polarion UI language directly in the interface. The change is applied immediately, with no administrator involvement required. Polarion X supports 13 languages, and all language packs are included in your environment. There's nothing to install or request. Administrators can still set the default language for everyone who hasn't picked their own. New support for right-to-left languages. Polarion X 2606 introduces native right-to-left language support for teams working in languages such as Hebrew and Arabic. You can create and edit content in LiveDocs and Work Items, including content that mixes right-to-left and left-to-right text. Right-to-left formatting is preserved across lists, tables, search, and exports to Word and PDF. Future-proofed variant management with Polarion Variant Configurator. Polarion Variant Configurator is replacing Polarion VARIANTS. It provides a sustainable path forward while preserving the end-user experience you already know. Your existing variant data, configurations, feature selections, and reports continue to work as before. Behind the scenes, variant resolution moves to a Siemens-owned solution, reducing the dependency on proprietary third-party solver technology. For Polarion X customers using Polarion VARIANTS, the transition to Polarion Variant Configurator happens automatically as part of your upgrade to 2606. There's nothing to migrate or reconfigure, and your users won't notice a difference in their daily work. If you manage your variants with the Product Configurator for Teamcenter X, introduced in Polarion X 2512, that option remains available. Enhanced integration capabilities. Polarion X 2606 brings a major expansion of the REST API, and the API documentation now follows the OpenAPI standard, which makes it easier to connect Polarion X with the rest of your toolchain. Highlights include: * Create and delete all Document Part types, including Headings and Work Items, and move multiple Work Items into a Document in a single operation. * Import Word documents via the REST API using your existing import templates. * Richer field metadata at the Global and Project levels, as well as for individual instances. * Enumeration support for Documents and Pages, and for Link Role attributes. * Unassign licenses from users directly via the REST API. The Polarion Connector for Simulink has also been updated and tested against Simulink 2026a. You can now choose which Spaces to work with to improve performance with large numbers of Documents, link lines of code directly to Work Items in Direct Linking mode, and see System Composer Component I/O ports during backlink processing. The new version is available on the extension portal. Synchronize your Azure AD groups with Polarion X in Admin Console. The Siemens Xcelerator Admin Console keeps evolving alongside Polarion X. With its latest upgrade, Admin Console now supports the synchronization of groups between Polarion X and Azure AD (Microsoft Entra ID) groups. This means the groups you already maintain in your corporate directory can drive group membership in Polarion X. Instead of managing the same teams in two places, you manage them once in Azure AD and the changes are reflected in Polarion X. That makes onboarding and offboarding faster, keeps permissions consistent with your company's identity policies, and reduces the manual work for your administrators. Group synchronization is configured in Admin Console, so it is available to all Polarion X customers who have been onboarded to it. Existing customers to upgrade to 2606. Polarion X 2606 is available now, and Siemens AG is already contacting existing customers to schedule their upgrade. Siemens AG is committed to minimizing any disruption and will work with each customer to find a time slot that aligns with their work schedule and activities. Conclusion. Polarion X 2606 continues to evolve as a robust SaaS solution, consistently building upon the proven strengths of Polarion ALM. Your invaluable feedback remains a cornerstone of its development, ensuring Polarion X maintains its standing as the premier choice for cloud-based collaborative software development and project management. Siemens AG encourage you to share your questions or comments via its blog, the Polarion Community Portal, or by connecting with your dedicated Polarion technical support contact. Siemens AG sincerely thank you for choosing Polarion X. Siemens AG is committed to delivering continuous enhancements and eagerly anticipate bringing you even more impactful innovations in future updates.
