Demand for AI infrastructure and cloud drives Ingram Micro's quarterly results.

Demand for AI infrastructure and cloud drives Ingram Micro's quarterly results. IT distributor Ingram Micro posted record results in the third quarter of fiscal year 2026. The company's total net revenue rose 20.8 percent year over year to $15.2 billion. Revenue, operating income, and earnings per share all came in above previously issued expectations. Growth was driven primarily by continued strong demand for advanced IT solutions, including GPU and AI infrastructure, and a sharp increase in sales of cloud solutions. Gross profit for the quarter, which ended on September 26, 2026, rose 14.6 percent to $996.9 million. Gross margin came in at 6.55 percent, compared with 6.90 percent in the same period a year earlier. This slight margin decline was caused by a change in the product mix: sales of AI and GPU infrastructure involve large projects with lower margins, but also with lower operating costs to deliver them. Excluding these specific large AI deals, gross margin remained nearly stable at 7.06 percent. Operating income rose 31.4 percent to $293.8 million, while adjusted operating income increased 24.9 percent to $322.0 million. Net income on a GAAP basis came in at $131.1 million, equivalent to $0.57 per share. On a non-GAAP basis, net income rose 24.8 percent to $210.6 million, or $0.91 per share. In addition to revenue growth, streamlined operations contributed to the profit increase. The company generated $251.4 million in operating cash flow and $249.5 million in adjusted free cash flow, marking its strongest third-quarter cash flow performance in more than five years. Solid performance and margin improvement in the EMEA region. In the EMEA region (Europe, Middle East and Africa), Ingram Micro recorded net revenue of $3.9 billion, an increase of 7.3 percent compared with the third quarter of the prior fiscal year. Currency fluctuations against the US dollar had a negative effect of 1 percent on the region's revenue comparison. Growth in EMEA was driven primarily by a strong performance in the Advanced Solutions segment, which rose 24 percent, led by higher sales of servers and storage systems. In addition, Cloud-based Solutions in EMEA showed strong growth of 39 percent. These increases offset a slight decline of 1 percent in the Client and Endpoint Solutions segment. Operating income in EMEA rose 9.4 percent to $67.8 million, compared with $62.0 million in the comparable quarter last year. Adjusted operating income for the region came in at $75.1 million, an increase of 8.1 percent. Operating margin improved slightly from 1.69 percent to 1.72 percent. This margin improvement was achieved through lower operating costs as a percentage of revenue, including a reduction of 10 basis points in personnel costs and 4 basis points in facilities costs, although these efficiency gains were partly offset by the shift in sales mix toward lower-margin products. Besides EMEA, the other geographic regions also showed growth. North America posted a revenue increase of 31.5 percent to $5.8 billion, strongly influenced by a 61 percent increase in Advanced Solutions and strong performance in the US logistics and repair division. In Asia-Pacific, revenue rose 22.3 percent to $4.3 billion, partly thanks to a 25 percent increase in advanced solutions in China and 44 percent growth in cloud services. Latin America saw revenue increase 16.7 percent to $1.1 billion, driven by broad growth across client devices, cloud and cybersecurity. Looking at global product categories, revenue in Advanced Solutions rose 40 percent across all regions. Cloud-based Solutions grew 31 percent worldwide, while the Client and Endpoint Solutions category showed an increase of 10 percent. Other services increased 35 percent. Raised outlook and dividend. Partly based on the strong quarterly results and the ongoing scaling of the digital platform Xvantage, Ingram Micro management raised its outlook for the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2026. For the coming quarter, which has fourteen working weeks, the company expects net revenue between $17.5 billion and $17.9 billion. That implies expected revenue growth of 17.6 to 20.3 percent year over year. Non-GAAP earnings per share for the fourth quarter are estimated at $1.05 to $1.15. Ingram Micro's board also raised the quarterly dividend to $0.088 per share. This is an increase of 2.3 percent compared with the previous quarter and an increase of 10.0 percent compared with the same quarter a year earlier. The dividend will be paid on November 23, 2026, to shareholders of record on November 9, 2026. In addition, the company reiterated the targets for its multi-year financial framework for the period 2026-2029. About Witold Kepinski.
