ANI adopts Grass Valley tools for high-volume news workflow.

ANI adopts Grass Valley tools for high-volume news workflow. Sep 29, 2026 | TVN Staff Save this article for later! Login or create a Free Member Profile to bookmark it. Asian News International, a South Asian multimedia news agency, has deployed Grass Valley's AMPP and Framelight X to manage ingest, media handling and content distribution across its news operation. ANI said the system creates a centralized workflow for capturing live feeds and making video quickly available to editorial and distribution teams. The company said four on-premises processing nodes are tied to AMPP cloud orchestration and support 32 scheduled ingest resources across 28 SDI and four SRT channels. The Framelight X system adds monitoring, media management, clip playback, graphics and workflow automation in one environment. Founded in 1971, ANI operates more than 100 bureaus across India, South Asia and other international locations. The agency supplies text, video and pictures to television networks, digital platforms, newspapers and more than 1,000 news organizations worldwide. "ANI operates continuously across a fast-moving news environment, where incoming content must be recorded, verified and made available to our editorial and distribution teams without delay," said Ishaan Prakash, ANI director. "The Grass Valley AMPP and Framelight X platform gives us a centralized environment for scheduling, ingest monitoring, asset management and automated content delivery, helping us manage a high volume of news feeds while making content available faster for broadcast, digital and social media workflows." Grass Valley said Elastic Recorder X and Scheduler give ANI control over its ingest resources, while Elastic Flow Monitor provides visibility into signal health, recording status and storage use. The company said Clip Player services handle preview, quality control, production and transmission, with GV HTML Graphics, Clean Cut and Image Store supporting graphics, switching and fallback. Framelight X also gives ANI browser-based access to search, proxy preview, metadata inspection and content validation. Grass Valley said automated workflows move completed recordings into ANI's central library and make them available for editing, archive and playout, including Adobe and EDIUS environments. During breaking news, ANI can record and monitor multiple live feeds while making captured material available for review, clipping and distribution. Retention, proxy regeneration and asset deletion are also automated, according to Grass Valley. "ANI operates at a scale where speed, reliability and visibility across the content lifecycle are critical," said Evan Boyd, Grass Valley senior vice president of sales, APAC. "This deployment combines AMPP cloud orchestration with local media processing to manage high-density ingest and automate the movement of content into editorial, broadcast and digital workflows. It gives ANI a scalable software-defined platform that can continue to develop with its news operations." Grass Valley said it will showcase AMPP, Framelight X and other production tools at Broadcast India 2026 in Mumbai from Oct. 22-24. About mark K. Miller. Mark K. LNK Group accelerates ST 2110 transition across 5 networks with AMPP.

LNK Group accelerates ST 2110 transition across 5 networks with AMPP. The deployment combines on-premises software-defined playout with cloud-based disaster recovery for the Lithuanian TV group Published: September 18, 2026 Grass Valley has announced its solutions have been selected by LNK Group as part of its transition to SMPTE ST 2110. The Lithuanian TV group has deployed Grass Valley's AMPP Media Operating System across five of its national television networks. Combining an on-premises primary system with cloud-based disaster recovery, the solutions replace LNK's legacy playout environment, with Playout X and Framelight X running on AMPP Local at its Vilnius facility. The deployment follows a competitive tender process focused on ensuring reliability and operational resilience while increasing flexibility to enable the development of workflows and services. Commenting, Ričardas Kazlauskas, CTO at LNK Group, said, "This project represents an important step in the modernisation of LNK Group's broadcast infrastructure. Our objective was to maintain the reliability required for national television broadcasting while giving us more flexibility in how we deploy and develop our services. Moving our five networks to AMPP and Playout X alongside our transition to SMPTE ST 2110 provides that foundation." Redundant Playout X chains provide continuity across LNK's five networks, which combine scheduled programming, advertising, live content, news and graphics. Support is provided for live inputs, secondary recordings, HTML5 graphics, advanced audio and SCTE insertion for downstream advertising on LNK's digital platform. Allowing applications to run on shared compute rather than dedicated hardware, AMPP provides the flexibility to introduce or change workflows. The deployment runs alongside LNK's existing ST 2110 infrastructure, integrating software-defined applications with its wider IP environment. Media management, logging, editing, record scheduling and content review are enabled by Framelight X, with high-resolution and proxy media held on central NAS storage. Replacing archive browsing and selection functionality previously used by traffic, scheduling and promo teams, the solution provides access to content within the existing Telestream DIVA archive. Hannu Pro, Grass Valley's Baltic region partner and certified AMPP Managed Service Partner, delivered the deployment, integrating integrated DIVA and Vantage with the new environment to meet LNK's workflow requirements. "One of the most important aspects of this transformation is that broadcast applications are no longer tightly coupled to dedicated hardware," said Justinas Kunickas, CIO at LNK Group. "With AMPP we can run applications on shared compute infrastructure, integrate them with our existing systems and introduce or change workflows without rebuilding the underlying signal chain. For us, that architectural flexibility is one of the key benefits of moving toward a Dynamic Media Facility environment."

Grass Valley recognized with 2026 Technology & Engineering Emmy(R) Award for advancing remote Broadcast Production.

Grass Valley recognized with 2026 Technology & Engineering Emmy(R) Award for advancing remote Broadcast Production. Grass Valley honored alongside industry leaders for the development of web-based, frame-accurate remote monitoring systems for distributed broadcast production MONTREAL, CANADA -September 16 2026 - Grass Valley has been recognized with a 2026 Technology & Engineering Emmy(R) Award for its contribution to the development of Web-Based Frame-Accurate Remote Monitoring Systems for Distributed Broadcast Production. Presented by the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS), the Technology & Engineering Emmy Awards recognize significant developments in television technology and engineering that have materially affected the production, transmission or reception of television. Grass Valley is among eight organizations receiving the award for the development and implementation of web-based, frame-accurate remote monitoring technologies: CBS Sports, NBCUniversal, Disney, Amazon, Game Creek, SipRadius, and Vindral. The technologies recognized by NATAS emerged during the COVID-19 pandemic, when the live television industry faced an urgent need to maintain high-quality, real-time production while teams and facilities were distributed across locations. These innovations continued to evolve through early 2024 and have since become standard across major broadcasters, cable networks and streaming platforms. For Grass Valley, the recognition reflects its contribution to the technologies and workflows that enabled production teams to monitor live content remotely with the precision required for professional broadcast operations. These capabilities have become an important part of the industry's transition toward more distributed production models, allowing teams to collaborate across locations while maintaining the quality and timing expected of live television. "Receiving a Technology & Engineering Emmy is a significant recognition of the work our teams and industry partners have done to advance remote production," said Ian Fletcher, Chief Technology Officer, Grass Valley. "The rapid shift to distributed production during the pandemic accelerated innovation across our industry. What began as a response to an unprecedented challenge has become an established part of how live content is produced today. We are proud to be recognized alongside the organizations that contributed to this evolution." The award will be presented at a joint Engineering, Science & Technology Emmy ceremony hosted by the Television Academy and NATAS on October 14, 2026, at the Television Academy's Saban Media Center in North Hollywood, California. The 2026 recognition adds to Grass Valley's long history of contribution to television technology. Across Grass Valley and its predecessor companies, including Miranda Technologies and Snell Advanced Media, the company has received more than 33 Technical & Engineering Emmy Awards.
