Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Mechanical aptitude with a strong commitment to safety and quality is required.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office, are required.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment is required.
  • Ability to work in industrial environments, including lifting 50 pounds as required, bending, kneeling, climbing ladders, and climbing beneath machines, is required.
  • Ability to obtain Hi-Lo, aerial platform, and overhead crane certifications is required.
  • Ability to provide personal hand tools and a toolbox is required.
Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and controls engineers to assemble custom automation equipment using mechanical drawings and project specifications.
  • Operate a variety of shop equipment and hand tools safely and effectively.
  • Prepare material for secondary purposes such as material finishing and heat treatment.
  • Communicate project progress and status with the Build Lead, Project Managers, and other departments.
  • Document machine updates and communicate project progress with the team.
  • Take ownership of an assigned portion of each project, make decisions, and solve challenges independently while collaborating with the team.
  • Complete the Final Ship Checklist and store it in the corresponding job folder.
  • Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Desired Qualifications
  • Vocational or technical education.
  • Ability to read mechanical part and assembly drawings.
  • Experience building industrial equipment, machinery, or automation systems.
  • Experience operating common fabrication and machine shop equipment.
