Raising Cane's plans late October opening in Grandville. Posted: Oct 9, 2026 / 11:13 AM EDT Updated: Oct 9, 2026 / 11:43 AM EDT GRANDVILLE, Mich. (WOOD) - Raising Cane's has set an opening date for its Grandville restaurant. The restaurant at 3980 Rivertown Mall Path, near Wilson Avenue SW and Rivertown Parkway, is scheduled to open Oct. 22, a Raising Cane's representative confirmed to News 8. Construction has been underway for months. To make way for its new restaurant, Raising Cane's demolished the former Sears Auto Center building on the site. City planning documents indicate the Grandville restaurant will be open from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 a.m. Sunday through Thursday and from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 a.m. Friday and Saturday. Raising Cane's currently has restaurants in Kentwood and Portage, with additional locations planned in Walker and Holland Township. The chain is known for its chicken fingers, crinkle-cut fries, Texas toast and signature sauce.
[EXCLUSIVE] another Raising Cane's coming soon + opening updates. ToNeTo Atlanta continues to be your number one source for updates on the Atlanta market expansion of Raising Cane's, and Weinstock Realty & Development, LLC is pleased to report that another Raising Cane's is moving forward! A new Raising Cane's is planned for 1345 East-West Connector in an outparcel of the Heritage Hills shopping center in Austell, where it will replace the former Juicy Crab that closed earlier this summer. The new Raising Cane's will be built from the ground up on the roughly one acre property. Cobb County property records indicate that the current roughly 5,600 square foot building was constructed in 1996 when it opened as a location of The Italian Oven Restaurant chain. The Juicy Crab opened in the building in early 2020. The restaurant would be situated alongside existing locations of LongHorn Steakhouse and Olive Garden. Heritage Hills was sold in September by Atlanta-based Garner Group, but the firm retained several outparcels, including the Raising Cane's property. The new Austell Raising Cane's - slated to open in late 2027 - will be the chain's fourth in Cobb County. The company opened a new restaurant in Kennesaw this past January, with another planned for Cobb Parkway in Smyrna and one more planned along Johnson Ferry Road in East Cobb. A company representative told ToNeTo Atlanta that the Smyrna location - where Red Lobster has yet to close - is slated to open in mid to late 2027, while timing (and confirmation) of the East Cobb unit was not yet available. ToNeTo Atlanta exclusively reported in November 2024 that Raising Cane's plans to open new locations on Piedmont Road in Buckhead and on 14th Street in West Midtown, where in both cases the chain is replacing former Krystal restaurants. The Piedmont and 14th Street restaurants are finally under construction, with a company representative telling ToNeTo Atlanta that both are slated for 2027 openings. The chain, which also has a location slated to open this fall in Macon, is actively looking to expand its presence locally, but has abandoned plans for site specific locations in Dunwoody and Chastain Park. There are currently fourteen Raising Cane's restaurants open across Georgia. For those unfamiliar - aka non-"Caniacs" - of which there don't seem to be many, Raising Cane's features a very simple menu with a focus on fried chicken fingers. Menu offerings also include a fried chicken sandwich, crinkle-cut fries, Texas Toast, coleslaw, and not much else. University of Georgia graduate Todd Graves, along with his business partner Craig Silvey, opened the first Raising Cane's in Baton Rouge near the LSU campus in 1996. Earlier this year, the company surpassed 1,000 Raising Cane's restaurants across 44 states, plus Guam and Washington D.C. Are you excited about the opening of Raising Cane's in Austell? Raising Cane's plans first Tampa restaurant on North Dale Mabry. Raising Cane's plans to open its first Tampa restaurant on North Dale Mabry Highway, extending a Tampa Bay expansion that has already brought the chicken chain to Clearwater, St. Petersburg and Lutz. The company would demolish the Sunnyside medical marijuana dispensary at 1902 N. Dale Mabry Highway and replace it with a 2,794-square-foot restaurant with a drive-thru, mobile-order pickup and outdoor dining. The North Dale Mabry restaurant would become Raising Cane's fifth Tampa Bay location as the Louisiana-based chain continues an expansion that began in Florida with its first restaurant in Homestead in 2022. Cane's opened 118 restaurants in 2024 alone and has since grown beyond 1,000 locations worldwide, nearly three decades after Todd Graves opened the first Raising Cane's in Baton Rouge in 1996. Raising Cane's expects to spend about $1.75 million on the Tampa restaurant, replacing Sunnyside's 8,126-square-foot building with one roughly one-third its size.
