Hasbro names Dan Ayoub Wizards of the Coast president, its third in under five years

Hasbro has named Dan Ayoub president of Wizards of the Coast and Hasbro Digital Games, effective Monday. He is the third person in the role in under five years, and the first promoted from within. Ayoub joined Wizards of the Coast in 2022 and was most recently senior vice president of Dungeons & Dragons. He will lead Magic: The Gathering, D&D, Duel Masters, and digital games including Exodus and Warlock. He previously worked at Microsoft, including at Halo studio 343 Industries. He succeeds John Hight, who moved to an advisory role on September 1. Hight held the job for two years, as did Cynthia Williams before him. Hasbro's third-quarter net revenue rose 15% to $1.6 billion. Revenue in the Wizards of the Coast and digital gaming division rose 28%, with Magic reaching $600 million in quarterly revenue for the first time.

Hasbro shares up 34% in a month as Wizards shake-up fuels debate: 18% undervalued or 5% overvalued?

Hasbro has named Dan Ayoub president of Wizards of the Coast & Hasbro Digital Games. He will oversee Magic: The Gathering, Dungeons & Dragons, and related digital titles. The move comes as Hasbro raised its 2026 revenue guidance and reported stronger quarterly earnings. Its shares returned 34.33% over 30 days and 56.72% to shareholders over one year. The stock last closed at $118.33. Valuation views differ. The most followed narrative puts fair value at $112.62, or 5% overvalued. A Simply Wall St discounted cash flow model estimates $144.65, which implies the shares trade about 18.2% below that value. Risks include reliance on Magic: The Gathering and the impact of tariff and licensing costs on margins.

Outside big tech, Tuesday's earnings winners jumped as much as 11%. Oct 21, 2026, 07:08 ET MIAMI, Oct. 21, 2026 /PRNewswire/ - Stock Preachers News Commentary - Tuesday's session showed how quickly market leadership can change hands. The Dow Jones Industrial Average climbed 529.85 points, or 1.02%, to 52,495.88, and the small-cap Russell 2000 rose 1.65%, while the Nasdaq Composite slipped 0.02% to 26,424.82 and the S&P 500 added 0.28% to 7,712.57. Some of the day's sharpest moves came from third-quarter reports at companies well outside the megacap technology names: a credit data company, a toy and game maker, an industrial manufacturer and a Cleveland-based bank. Active Companies from around the markets with current developments this week include: 3M Company (NYSE: MMM), Equifax Inc. (NYSE: EFX), Hasbro, Inc. (NASDAQ: HAS), KeyCorp (NYSE: KEY). Those four stocks gained between 4.47% and 11.33% on Tuesday, according to Stock Analysis data, and no two of them moved for the same reason. One paired a solid quarter with a new data center partnership. One jumped even after trimming its full-year revenue outlook. One raised its outlook on the strength of a single trading card game. And one posted record quarterly revenue. That spread is a useful reminder of how earnings season works. Index levels tell investors where the market closed, but the reaction to each individual report shows what investors were actually paying for, and with more companies reporting through the rest of the week, those reactions are worth watching one stock at a time. Monopoly Go earned Hasbro $41m in Q3, taking its nine-month total to $127m.

Monopoly Go earned Hasbro $41m in Q3, taking its nine-month total to $127m. Monopoly Go earned Hasbro $41m in the third quarter of 2026, bringing the licensor's income from Scopely's game to $127m for the first nine months of the year. Hasbro reported the figures in its Q3 results on October 20, matching the $41m it made in Q1 and slightly down from Q2's $44m. The nine-month total is also almost identical to last year, when Hasbro reported $126m of Monopoly Go revenue over the same period. The quarter covered the Looney Tunes takeover, which followed The Simpsons and ran from July 29 to September 23. Scopely then launched its Monster Mash season on September 23, which includes crossovers with KPop Demon Hunters and Ghostbusters and runs until November 25. Scopely says the game has passed 300m downloads, and Sensor Tower said in January that it was the fastest game to reach $6bn in in-app purchase revenue. Hasbro's digital and licensed gaming revenue rose 3% to $134.1m in Q3, and 7% to $390.9m year to date. Hasbro also named KPop Demon Hunters, alongside Marvel and Transformers, as a leading brand in its Consumer Products business, where revenue grew 4% to $827.9m. Magic: The Gathering passed $600m in quarterly revenue for the first time, reaching $616.1m (+34%).
