EXCLUSIVE: Adidas debuts premium retail format in Italy with Rome opening.

EXCLUSIVE: Adidas debuts premium retail format in Italy with Rome opening. The assortment will put an emphasis on Adidas Originals icons and collaborations, including hookups with Y-3, Willy Chavarria, Bad Bunny and Jellyfish by Pharrell Williams. October 22, 2026, 12:00am MILAN - Adidas is bringing its premium retail format to Italy, unveiling a new store in Rome's landmark Via del Babuino, which leads to the city's famous Spanish Steps. Following the likes of Alo in targeting the central fashion street that's home to many luxury labels, the sports powerhouse dedicated the space to its Originals lifestyle proposition, founded in 2001. The location will be the first store in the country to feature the Collection V.2 retail concept. You May also Like. The 3,229-square-foot location marks the second unit Adidas has in the Italian capital. It will differentiate the assortment from the existing door by putting greater emphasis on a selection of Adidas Originals icons, trend-led products and internationally renowned collaborations. Alongside the brand's main lines, the new store will carry premium collections including Y-3, Willy Chavarria, Bad Bunny, Jellyfish by Pharrell Williams and Song for the Mute, with the ambition to become a point of reference for sneaker culture and contemporary fashion. In the same vein, the concept inside was to turn the retail space into a cultural hub where the company ethos meets the local culture. "We want this space to be much more than a store: a place where product, creativity and community come together, helping strengthen the connection between Adidas Originals and the cities that continue to inspire its evolution," said Alessandra Furia, senior director brand, Adidas Italy. "Rome is the perfect intersection of heritage, creativity and contemporary culture. Its strong local identity and international appeal make it the ideal city to introduce this new retail concept, strengthening the connection between Adidas Originals, local communities and global consumers," she said. With its combination of clean, minimalist design and travertine details that reference Roman architecture, the space aims to convey that dialogue between the brand and the city. Special corners are intended to enhance engagement with the community, ranging from the Made for You Area enabling customers to express their creativity through the personalization of selected products, to an inner courtyard designed to host events, activations and cultural initiatives. The first events will take place on Thursday, the eve of the store's opening to public. A private event will see Roman artist Giulio Bensasson presenting a selection of his works and a site-specific installation ahead of a DJ set celebrating the unit. While Furia underscored the company is "continuously exploring opportunities to expand [its] premium retail presence in key markets," she said other launches for the Collection V2 format are not on the agenda at the moment. As for Adidas' broader retail rollout in the Italian market, the company plans to open a store in Brugnato, near Cinque Terre, in March. This will add to a network of 25 directly operated units in the country, including two concept stores, two flagships and 21 factory outlets. Daily Headlines You May Like

From training to race day: Ahotu and adidas Running App launch the "10K WITH AHOTU"

From training to race day: Ahotu and adidas Running App launch the "10K WITH AHOTU" October 21, 2026. A global 10K challenge connecting training, community and the world of racing, giving runners the chance to turn their virtual achievement into a place at an adidas-sponsored marathon in 2027. October 21, 2026 /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ - Ahotu, the global running and race discovery platform, has partnered with the adidas Running App to launch the "10K WITH AHOTU" Virtual Race, inviting runners around the world to take on a 10K challenge from wherever they are. The partnership brings together two complementary parts of the running journey. The adidas Running App gives runners the tools and motivation to prepare, with training plans, performance insights, challenges and a global running community, while Ahotu connects runners with races and helps them discover their next running experience. According to adidas, its running ecosystem is a way to connect runners, help them track their progress and set goals, and enable them to discover virtual races and challenges. The "10K WITH AHOTU" Virtual Race takes that journey one step further, from training, to completing a challenge, to potentially standing on the start line of an iconic marathon. From a 10K to your next marathon The challenge is simple: complete a 10K in a single session on 29 November 2026. Runners who complete the distance will earn the exclusive "10K WITH AHOTU" race badge and unlock a 10% discount on Ahotu. They will also have the opportunity to enter a prize draw for the chance to win a race bib for one of three 2027 marathons: Lima, Stockholm or Manchester. The draw adds a tangible next step to the virtual experience. All three marathon destinations are part of the adidas running ecosystem, creating a natural progression from completing the 10K challenge to experiencing an adidas-backed race in person. For Ahotu, this connection is at the heart of the partnership. "At Ahotu, our goal is to help runners discover their next challenge and make it easier for them to turn their running ambitions into real experiences," says Charlotte Melchert, CEO of Ahotu. "That's what makes this partnership with adidas Running so exciting. The adidas Running app supports runners with their training, motivation and community they need to reach their goals, while Ahotu connects them with the races that can become their next big milestone. With the '10K WITH AHOTU' Virtual Race, we're bringing those two worlds together and the prize draw makes that journey even more exciting by giving runners the chance to go from completing a virtual 10K to lining up at an adidas-sponsored marathon in 2027." Registration is now open Registration for the "10K WITH AHOTU" Virtual Race is already open. Runners can start preparing with the adidas Running app and join the global challenge ahead of 29 November 2026, when participants will complete their 10K in a single session. Company info. Quarterly figures: Adidas expects higher profit after record quarter - customs refund helps.

Quarterly figures: Adidas expects higher profit after record quarter - customs refund helps. Profit rises 37% in the third quarter to €1.01 billion. The sporting goods group raises its annual forecast by €200 million to around €2.5 billion. Updated 10 hours ago A record quarter and the refund of US import tariffs are making Adidas, the world's second-largest sporting goods group, more confident. The company from the Franconian town of Herzogenaurach raised its forecast for operating profit this year by €200 million to around €2.5 billion on Tuesday evening. Adidas benefits from the group having received back around €200 million of the tariffs imposed by US President Donald Trump. A court had declared them unlawful. At the same time, Adidas is successfully resisting the weak industry environment and the discount battle in sports shoes. In the third quarter, revenue climbed 9% to €7.25 billion; adjusted for currency effects, the increase was 7%. Operating profit shot up 37% to €1.01 billion - the highest quarterly profit in the company's history. CEO Björn Gulden spoke of a "great quarter". "The investments and creativity in our marketing have made our brand strong and made Adidas popular worldwide again." The Adidas share rose by up to 2.4% on Wednesday to €161.95. In the summer, the company had still massively disappointed investors because it had not raised its profit expectations. Metzler analyst Felix Dennl said the figures were "further proof that Adidas is expanding market share and delivering profitable growth in a challenging market environment." Even without the customs refund, profit would have been higher than analysts expected. Adidas continues to expect currency-adjusted revenue growth of 9 to 10% for 2026. Its arch-rival Nike, by contrast, has to sell its goods at discounts and expects a revenue decline of up to 9% for its 2026/27 financial year (ending at the end of May). Customer desire for Adidas lifestyle products is high, wrote DZ Bank analyst Thomas Maul. "At the same time, we see increased credibility in running and training." Adidas keeps out of the discount battle. Gulden had put sport back in the foreground and is relying in leisure fashion on its sports shoe classics from the 1970s and 1980s, which the company is relaunching in many variants. A regionalization strategy has attracted new customers, especially in China. At Nike, by contrast, revenue there recently collapsed outright. The US market leader is trying to get rid of its overproduction worldwide with heavy discounts. That also weighs on Adidas, as Gulden admitted: "Yes, the lifestyle shoe business is currently difficult, above all because of excessive inventories and too many discounts across the market." But that would soon normalize again. Gross margin rose in the third quarter from 51.8 to 54.3%. At Nike, it was only 42.8% from June to August. Adidas is trying to stay out of the discount battle, said Gulden: "In this environment, we are not trying to extract the maximum in the short term." In fact, Adidas was even on course for operating profit of €2.6 billion, the statement said. Besides the customs effect of €200 million, a further €100 million was accounted for by Adidas being able to sell more goods at full price. That more than offset negative exchange-rate developments. However, Adidas announced that it would spend €100 million this year to bring forward investments, for example in IT infrastructure, logistics or its own store network, which are expected to be reflected in higher profits in the future. The customs refund had already been announced in July by departing CFO Harm Ohlmeyer, but as a precaution he had not yet factored it into the forecast. Now most of the refunds had actually arrived, it said. Trump had imposed massive tariffs, especially on the Asian countries where Adidas, Nike and many other sporting goods manufacturers have their goods produced. Stock alert.
