Rooted Hospitality Group

Rooted Hospitality Group

View

Rooted Hospitality Group owns and operates a portfolio of dining concepts mostly on Long Island, NY, with additional locations in Louisiana. It buys and develops restaurant properties, often reviving underperforming sites, and runs multiple brands—RUMBA, Cowfish, flora, Fauna—and quick-service AVO TACO, across full-service and casual formats, plus offers hospitality consulting. The brands are built around chef-driven menus and island-inspired themes, delivered through owned venues with a strong focus on service quality under a culture called “Hospitality DNA.” The company aims to expand its regional footprint, extend the RUMBA concept outside New York (including Louisiana), and help other businesses through consulting while maintaining brand coherence and high service standards.

What believers are saying

  • Rooted updated its site August 15, 2026, listing active events across all brands.
  • RUMBA Metairie now runs lunch, dinner, happy hour, and Sunday brunch.
  • RHG held a 2026 leadership conference in Vermont, signaling continued operator investment.

What critics are saying

  • RHG remains concentrated in Long Island; weather and traffic shocks hit multiple units.
  • Metairie's 4,000-square-foot RUMBA must prove Louisiana demand before 2027 expansion.
  • If Patchogue or Hampton Bays leases fail, RHG loses flagship traffic and brand halo.

What makes Rooted Hospitality Group unique

  • RUMBA, Cowfish, flora, Fauna, and AVO TACO diversify RHG across five concepts.
  • RHG turns distressed waterfront and downtown properties into year-round destinations.
  • The 2025 Metairie RUMBA proved RHG can export its formula beyond Long Island.
