IBEX announces 2026 Innovation award winners.

IBEX announces 2026 Innovation award winners. IBEX announced the 12 winners of its 2026 Innovation Awards. If you're considering equipment upgrades or changes, the International BoatBuilders' Exhibition and Conference (IBEX) has announced 12 winners of its 2026 Innovation Awards, recognizing new products and technologies across the recreational marine industry. Announced Oct. 6 during the show's annual Industry Breakfast and Innovation Awards presentation in Tampa, Florida, the winners were selected by a panel of judges from Boating Writers International (BWI). The program, managed by the National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA), evaluated 100 entries from exhibiting marine companies. Three additional products received honorable mentions. The awards span 11 categories, with dual winners in Boat Care and Maintenance and Electrical Systems. Recognized innovations include solutions that reduce waste, improve onboard electrical systems, protect vessel interiors from leaks, and enhance navigation and safety. In Boat Care and Maintenance, Propspeed won for Foulfree Multi-Surface, a non-toxic, three-step coating system that protects underwater components, including transducers, interceptors, and bow thrusters, against marine growth. Spectrum Color received the second award in the category for TouchPro, an aerosol-based kit that repairs scratches and finish defects on powder-coated metal surfaces, using color matches that correspond to original equipment manufacturer palettes. Big Dog Adhesives received the Boatbuilding Methods and Materials award for Reload Adhesives, a reusable caulking cartridge system that reduces waste by allowing users to replace spent foil cartridges rather than discarding entire canisters. In the Deck Equipment and Hardware category, Scanstrut was recognized for its Wireless Powered All-Round White LED Navigation Pole Light, which uses wireless power delivery and a water-resistant mount to eliminate traditional metal-to-metal electrical connections that are prone to corrosion. The light has a range of two nautical miles. Gemlux Deluxe Antenna Mount received an honorable mention in the category. Electrical Systems had two winners. ARCO's Zeus Omega Alternator Control System separates the alternator drive and control modules, simplifying wiring and supporting up to six alternators across 12- to 48-volt systems. Egis Mobile Electric won for its Modular Power Distribution Module, which consolidates fuses, resettable circuit breakers, Deutsch connectors, and NMEA 2000 control into a sealed, ignition-protected unit. The AquaAmp Smart DT Connector received an honorable mention in the category. Kenyon received the Furnishings and Interior Parts award for its Signature Induction Cooktop Series. The cooktop features matte-black glass-ceramic designed to eliminate reflective glare and visible marks, along with a bridge function that links two burners to provide even heat across a griddle or for oversized cookware. In Mechanical Systems, Flow Marine Systems won for FlowGuard Integrated Marine HVAC Condensate Protection. The system combines a drain-pan water sensor with control-board logic that alerts operators to leaks and shuts down the air conditioning until the leak is resolved, helping protect cabinetry and furnishings from water damage. Garmin USA received the OEM Electronics award for its Garmin Signal VHF 400, which integrates a VHF radio, DSC, and a Class B SOTDMA AIS transponder into a color touchscreen unit. Features include simultaneous monitoring of three channels, a three-minute audio replay, and diagnostic tools for antenna and cabling issues. The Nextfour Q Experience Q Float display received an honorable mention in the category. Glydus won in Propulsion Equipment and Parts for its Telescopic and Tilt Mechanism, which provides two inches of telescopic adjustment across 34 positions and tilt capability to improve helm ergonomics and accommodate different operator positions. The Safety Equipment award went to Canyon Runner for its Canyon Runner BRIZO Connected Vessel Intelligence. The service combines live vessel data, predictive analytics, weather intelligence, navigation insights, and crowdsourced information to support decision-making for recreational and professional captains, without requiring replacement of existing marine electronics. In Trailers; Parts and Accessories, Launch & Retrieve Boat Latch was recognized for its L&R Boat Latch, a system that simplifies launching and retrieving trailerable boats, especially for solo operators. Its bow-snare mechanism can be engaged or disengaged from the helm.

Garmin's $2,500 MARQ Gen 3 collection adds LTE and a Commander edition.

Garmin's $2,500 MARQ Gen 3 collection adds LTE and a Commander edition. 53 minutes ago 2 min Four years after Gen 2, Garmin's tool watches return with bigger AMOLED screens, built-in satellite SOS, and leakproof buttons. Garmin has announced the third generation of its luxury MARQ smartwatch collection, introducing six Grade-5 titanium tool watches equipped with larger displays, standalone LTE inReach connectivity, and built-in voice capabilities. The rollout marks the first major generational refresh to the luxury lineup since the MARQ Gen 2 series debuted in late 2022. Upgrading from the previous 1.2-inch screens, all Gen 3 models feature a larger, borderless 1.4-inch AMOLED display protected by a scratch-resistant sapphire lens. The updated chassis also incorporates the beloved built-in LED flashlight, the Garmin ECG app for heart rhythm monitoring, and a built-in speaker and microphone to handle phone calls and voice commands directly from the wrist. The most significant functional shift across the lineup is embedded inReach connectivity. As with the Garmin Fenix 8 Pro and Fenix 9 series, the Gen 3 models can send text and voice messages, broadcast real-time location via Garmin Locate, and trigger 24/7 emergency SOS responses through the Garmin Response coordination center over LTE or satellite networks - all without a nearby phone. Navigation is further enhanced with worldwide preloaded TopoActive maps and address search right out of the box. The MARQ Gen 3 lineup in focus. The collection now spans six tailored models - up from five in the previous collections - with the new addition being the military-focused Commander. With a camo jacquard band and Garmin's Applied Ballistics and Stealth Mode, this essentially merges the Marq and Tactix lines. The existing Captain model has also been remodeled as the Diver, while the Adventurer, Athlete, Aviator, and the Golfer are all returning. The MARQ Gen 3 collection will be available globally from November 5, delivering up to 18 days of battery life in standard smartwatch mode. MARQ Diver. The newly styled MARQ Diver ($3,100/£2,699) bridges the traditional watch industry's love of marine design and the smartwatch industry's growing appetite for dive-rated features. Rated for scuba, apnea, and snorkel diving up to 40 meters, it features tactile, leakproof buttons, autopilot helm controls for boat navigation, and a 15mm micro-adjustable strap designed to fit over thick wetsuit sleeves. MARQ Commander. Bringing tactical hardware to the main lineup, the MARQ Commander ($3,100/£2,699) features a camo jacquard-woven band, micro-knurled titanium buttons, and a matte-black ceramic UTC bezel. It pairs night-vision compatibility and Stealth Mode with an integrated Applied Ballistics solver for long-range targeting. MARQ Adventurer. As before, the Adventurer ($2,700/£2,399) is built for high-altitude exploration, pairing a full-grain Italian leather strap with a 360-degree compass ceramic bezel inlay. It adds real-time ClimbPro insights to track gradient, distance, and elevation gain on unrouted mountain ascents. MARQ Athlete. Tailored for pure performance - and aimed primarily at runners - the Athlete ($2,500/£2,199) combines a high-durability silicone rubber strap and a VO2 max ceramic bezel with advanced training metrics, including running economy analytics, power curves, and real-time stamina tracking. MARQ Aviator. Designed for pilots, the Aviator ($3,100/£2,699) pairs a padded calfskin leather bracelet and a polished black ceramic UTC bezel with dynamic flight mapping, NEXRAD aviation weather reporting, and direct-to-airport emergency routing. MARQ Golfer. Sporting a green ceramic 18-hole bezel inlay and a custom jacquard-woven strap, the Golfer ($2,800£2,499) comes preloaded with more than 43,000 global courses, Virtual Caddie shot recommendations, and slope-adjusted green contour data.

The new series brings more generous screens, improved navigation functions, expanded communication possibilities directly from the wrist and an exclusive design for each variant. Premium construction, carefully selected materials and a focus on functionality make these watches sophisticated instruments for use on land, at sea or in the air. Each reference in the collection benefits from a distinct design, highlighted by personalized combinations of ceramic straps, bracelets and frames, complemented by an exclusive selection of digital dials inspired by the aesthetics of classic watches appreciated by collectors. Garmin has chosen grade 5 titanium and sapphire crystal for the new models, materials that offer high resistance without compromising wearing comfort. In addition, the third generation MARQ introduces the largest screen used so far in the collection: a 1.4-inch, borderless AMOLED display designed for superior readability. The navigation capabilities have been significantly expanded by integrating preloaded TopoActive global maps and the address search function, allowing quick orientation to almost any corner of the world without additional preparations. The collection also benefits from inReach connectivity, which greatly expands the communication and safety possibilities of the new generation MARQ, allowing users to stay connected even when they are far from the conventional coverage of mobile networks. By connecting to the LTE network, the watch can make calls directly from the wrist without the need to use the phone. At the same time, the new Garmin Locate function allows real-time location sharing to family and friends via the Garmin Messenger app. Users can send and receive text or voice messages, access weather forecasts provided via LTE or satellite connections, and benefit from added security thanks to the SOS function dedicated to emergency situations. In the event of an incident, the watch can instantly transmit an alarm signal to the Garmin Response international center, where operators are available at all times, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to coordinate the intervention and provide the necessary assistance. For everyday use, all models are equipped with an integrated speaker and microphone, providing voice control and easy access to the functions of the connected smartphone. A high-intensity LED flashlight contributes to efficient use in low light conditions, a function that is as simple as it is useful in any conditions. Health monitoring remains a central element of the collection. Available functions include electrocardiogram analysis, sleep monitoring, stress level assessment, oxygen saturation measurement, and heart rate variability analysis. Users also receive personalized morning and evening reports designed to provide a detailed picture of recovery and preparation for the next day. Not to be neglected, all models offer up to 18 days of battery life in smartwatch mode. "We are excited to introduce the third generation of MARQ, designed for those who seek excellence. These watches made with great attention to detail combine the sophisticated style for which MARQ is renowned, with navigation functions and intelligent features more advanced than ever. Each of the six luxury watches with modern instruments is tailored to the user's lifestyle and reinforces Garmin's mission to create superior quality products that help our customers follow their passions." - Alexandru Moise, Sales & Marketing Garmin RO, HU, BG, MD. The watch that Lifetime Magazine had the honor of testing for the first time, the MARQ Diver, is dedicated to aquatic and underwater activities. With diving resistance and functions specific to water navigation, it can be used both in marine exploration and in everyday life, offering a rare combination of technical performance and the elegance of a premium watch. The MARQ Adventurer is geared toward exploration and outdoor enthusiasts, benefiting from advanced maps, compass markings integrated into the frame, and the ClimbPro function, which provides detailed information about ascents on the route. MARQ Athlete is aimed at athletes aiming to optimize performance, offering complex tools for analyzing workouts, assessing endurance, and measuring running efficiency. The sporty look is complemented by a silicone strap and a ceramic frame marked with the VO2 Max indicator. Intended for both pilots and frequent flyers, the MARQ Aviator integrates aeronautical charts, aviation-specific weather information and a UTC indicator dedicated to managing time zones. The design is complemented by a leather strap and a ceramic bezel with markings inspired by on-board instruments. The MARQ Commander is designed for tactical uses and includes features such as stealth mode, compatibility with night vision devices, and advanced solutions for orientation and ballistics. Its rugged appearance is accentuated by the camouflage pattern bracelet and black ceramic bezel. For golf enthusiasts, MARQ Golfer includes access to more than 43,000 preloaded courses and specialized features such as Virtual Caddie and green contour analysis, all integrated into a sophisticated design inspired by the world of the sport, from the vibrant shade of green to the texture of the bracelet.
