About the job

Requirements
  • At least 5 years of software engineering experience, with significant experience in platform, infrastructure, or reliability at scale.
  • A strong track record operating and evolving production systems, including observability, incident response, scalability, and reliability patterns, in environments with real traffic and high expectations.
  • Experience improving engineering delivery through continuous integration and continuous delivery, releases, automation, tooling, fast feedback loops, and developer productivity.
  • Strong software engineering foundations, including writing clean, testable, maintainable code and contributing directly to the codebase when needed.
  • Ability to make pragmatic architectural decisions that balance reliability, latency, and cloud costs, with a focus on impact.

  • Improve security as the team scales through access management, secrets handling, compliance work, and release hardening.
  • Improve engineering workflows for building, testing, and releasing, making the right way easier and increasing confidence in shipped work.
  • Shape internal use of artificial intelligence through automation, agents, and tooling that increase teams' execution capacity and reduce friction.
  • Define the platform roadmap, align stakeholders, and lead cross-team initiatives end-to-end; provide structure and mentorship to establish shared platform practices.
Desired Qualifications
  • Familiarity with infrastructure as code and modern deployment patterns.

About the company

Joko operates a mobile shopping app that gives users cashback, coupons, and discounts from a wide range of retailers. It earns commissions through affiliate marketing when users make purchases via the app. The app is free for users and automatically calculates the carbon footprint of each transaction, encouraging more conscious consumption. How it works: users browse partners in the app, activate deals, and make purchases through affiliate links to get rewards; the platform tracks sales and credits cashback automatically to the user’s account. How it is different: it combines traditional cashback and coupon offers with real-time carbon footprint insights for each purchase, offering environmental visibility alongside savings, within a broad consumer market. What the company aims for: to help people save money on everyday spending while promoting greener consumption and to grow its affiliate network across retailers.
