Driscoll named one of three children's hospitals nationwide recognized for excellence in patient-centered care.

Driscoll named one of three children's hospitals nationwide recognized for excellence in patient-centered care. Corpus Christi, TX, Sept. 29, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) - Driscoll Children's Hospital has been named a recipient of the 2026 NRC Health Excellence in Patient Experience Award, recognizing the hospital's commitment to providing exceptional, patient-centered care to children and families. Driscoll was one of only three children's hospitals selected for the Excellence in Pediatric Patient Experience category nationwide. The award recognizes children's hospitals that receive exceptional feedback from patients and families, including how likely they are to recommend the hospital to others. "This recognition reflects what our patients and families experience every day, a team that is highly engaged in caring for children and supporting families through some of the most important moments of their lives," said Eric Hamon, President and CEO of Driscoll Health System. "Every physician, nurse and staff member plays a role in creating that experience. To have that commitment recognized nationally, based on feedback from the families we serve, is something all of Driscoll can be proud of." Patient experience is a critical part of Driscoll's mission to deliver exceptional healthcare to the children of South Texas. From specialized medical and surgical care to everyday interactions with patients and their families, Driscoll works to provide compassionate, family-centered care built around the individual needs of each child. "NRC Health's awards recognize organizations that consistently deliver experiences that earn trust, strengthen loyalty, and improve healthcare for the people they serve," said Trent Green, Chief Executive Officer for NRC Health. The 2026 Excellence in Patient Experience Awards recognize healthcare organizations across several categories, including health systems, hospitals, medical groups, critical access hospitals, specialty hospitals and children's hospitals. Winners are selected using patient experience data collected through NRC Health. About Driscoll: Driscoll is the premier healthcare provider for children in South Texas. We are a nonprofit healthcare system that has served communities in the Lone Star State since 1953. Today, Driscoll is the fastest-growing healthcare system in the region, offering care at the region's only two freestanding designated children's hospitals, Driscoll Children's Hospital in Corpus Christi and Driscoll Children's Hospital Rio Grande Valley, and at specialty centers and clinics across South Texas. Our nonprofit community-based health plan, Driscoll Health Plan, offers Texas families access to local physicians and other lifesaving benefits.
