Subaru Gives the WRX and BRZ Two Limited-Run Anniversary Editions for the US. September 29, 2026 4 Mins Read Subaru is leaning into two of its most enthusiast-friendly nameplates with a pair of limited US special editions for 2027. The WRX GD25 and BRZ ZC15 are anniversary models with familiar Subaru ingredients, from World Rally Blue paint and gold wheels to boxer engines and six-speed manual gearboxes. They're not broad-market appearance packages either, with production capped at 350 units for the WRX and 300 units for the BRZ. At a glance. * Subaru has introduced the 2027 WRX GD25 and BRZ ZC15 as limited-production anniversary editions for the US market. * The WRX gets rally-inspired hardware and chassis changes, while the BRZ adds Gen-1-inspired Ceramic White paint and bronze detailing. * Production is limited to 350 WRX GD25 units and 300 BRZ ZC15 units, with reservations opening this year. GD25 brings rally-era cues back to the WRX. The WRX GD25 is the more overtly nostalgic of the two, paying tribute to the first WRX sold in the United States in 2002 and its "GD" chassis code. Subaru has kept the visual brief direct, finishing the car exclusively in World Rally Blue with 19-inch gold wheels and matching brake calipers. That blue-and-gold pairing remains one of Subaru's most recognisable design signatures, and here it's backed up with a more purposeful rear end. The GD25 is fitted with a carbon-fibre swan-neck rear wing that takes inspiration from Travis Pastrana's WRX ARA25L rally car. Inside, the special edition gets GD25 Recaro seats with red stitching, giving the cabin a more focused character without moving away from the WRX's everyday performance brief. Subaru has also made hardware changes beyond the cosmetics. The WRX GD25 receives re-tuned suspension with stiffer springs and a flexible strut tower brace, changes aimed at sharpening the car's response. Power comes from a 2.4-litre turbocharged boxer engine producing 271 hp, paired with a six-speed manual gearbox and an STI short shifter. BRZ ZC15 keeps the anniversary brief simple. The BRZ ZC15 takes a subtler route, using details that connect the current car back to the first-generation BRZ. Its Ceramic White paint was previously offered exclusively on the Gen-1 BRZ, making it a carefully chosen colour rather than a random limited-edition finish. Matte bronze wheels, gold Brembo calipers and unique bronze decals add contrast, while a black decklid spoiler gives the rear a slightly sharper edge. Under the hood, Subaru has added a flexible V-bar. The ZC15 keeps the BRZ's familiar naturally aspirated formula, with a 228 hp 2.4-litre boxer engine driving through a six-speed manual transmission. That matters because the BRZ's appeal has always been more about balance and driver involvement than outright numbers. Limited production and reservation timing. Subaru will build just 350 examples of the WRX GD25 for the US, alongside 300 examples of the BRZ ZC15. Reservations are expected to begin this year, with deliveries planned for winter and summer 2027. Pricing has not been announced. For Subaru buyers who missed earlier enthusiast-spec models, both cars offer a tightly defined take on two familiar platforms rather than a wholesale reinvention. Details & specifications. | Label | Value | | WRX model | 2027 Subaru WRX GD25 | | WRX production | 350 units for the US | | WRX engine | 2.4-litre turbocharged boxer | | WRX output | 271 hp | | WRX transmission | Six-speed manual with STI short shifter | | WRX exterior | World Rally Blue | | WRX notable features | 19-inch gold wheels, matching brake calipers, carbon-fibre swan-neck rear wing, re-tuned suspension, stiffer springs, flexible strut tower brace, GD25 Recaro seats with red stitching | | BRZ model | 2027 Subaru BRZ ZC15 | | BRZ production | 300 units for the US | | BRZ engine | 2.4-litre boxer | | BRZ output | 228 hp | | BRZ transmission | Six-speed manual | | BRZ exterior | Ceramic White | | BRZ notable features | Matte bronze wheels, gold Brembo calipers, bronze decals, black decklid spoiler, flexible V-bar | | Reservations | Set to begin this year | | Deliveries | Planned for winter and summer 2027 | The GD25 and ZC15 work because they understand their audience, giving Subaru loyalists limited numbers, manual gearboxes and just enough period-correct detail to feel meaningful without smothering the cars in nostalgia.

The Subaru WRX GD25 and BRZ ZC15 are a pair of limited-edition boxers with shiny wheels. Gold or bronze rims, upgraded suspensions, and stickier tires bring extra spice to Subaru's performance cars. By Emmet WhitePublished: Sep 28, 2026 11:57 AM EDT Subaru of America is adding anniversary editions of the 2027 Subaru WRX and BRZ, and some subtle performance upgrades are on the menu. The 2027 Subaru WRX GD25 and 2027 Subaru BRZ ZC15, revealed at Boxerfest 2026 in York, Pennsylvania on Monday, honor the chassis codes of their respective models when they arrived in the United States 25 and 15 years ago. Availability will be limited to 350 WRX GD25 units and 300 BRZ ZC15 copies. Shiny wheels link the limited-edition models, but each offers its own flavor of upgraded performance. The WRX GD25 comes exclusively in World Rally Blue and rides atop gold-painted 19-inch alloy wheels. Subaru fitted the AWD sport sedan with uprated Brembo brakes, gold-painted calipers, and Bridgestone Potenza S007 high-performance tires. A flexible strut tower bar and stiffer springs round out the mechanical upgrades. Most importantly in its eyes, however, Subaru installed a STI-esque dry carbon fiber swan-neck rear wing - a component pulled directly from Travis Pastrana's WRX ARA25L rally car. Inside, Subaru fitted Recaro seats with black Ultrasuede inserts with red accent stitching and an STI shift knob plus short shifter. All GD25 units come with a 6-speed manual transmission. The 2027 BRZ ZC15 is painted in brilliant Ceramic White, which is an exclusive color to the ZC15, and rides on matte bronze wheels. The special-edition BRZ features red-painted Brembo calipers, unique bronze decals, and a black decklid spoiler. Black leather-appointed upholstery and Bordeaux red inserts round out the special-edition touches. "Our anniversary edition WRX and BRZ models commemorate the iconic performance heritage and successes of both vehicles in the U.S.," said William Stokes, car line planning manager for Subaru of America. "The WRX GD25 is a tribute to our rally-ready sedan and its sports car pedigree, including the wing it shares with the ARA Championship-winning ARA25L. Similarly, BRZ ZC15 embodies the best of our long-running, accessible performance sports car, right down to its rear wheel-drive engagement." Subaru expects the WRX GD25 to arrive by summer 2027, while the BRZ ZC15 will be available early next year. Pricing details and additional performance specifications will be available closer to market launch. The 2027 Subaru Impreza adds almost 20% more power, costs $2000 less. 180 ponies, AWD, and a sub-$26K MSRP combine to make the base-model Subaru a properly good deal. By Emmet WhitePublished: Sep 25, 2026 11:30 AM EDT The Subaru Impreza has been around for more than 30 years in the U.S. market, and the intrepid all-wheel-drive hatchback has earned quite the following for its blend of versatility, grip, and affordability. And it seems likely to gain a few more fans for the new model year, as on Thursday, Subaru announced an updated Impreza for 2027 that brings the excellent combination of more power and a lower sticker price. Base 2027 Subaru Impreza models will start at $25,840, which is about $2000 less than the 2026 model year unit. Subaru says the Impreza will be the most affordable all-wheel-drive compact vehicle on sale in the United States, coming in below models like the Mazda 3 and Toyota Prius. Instead of cutting prices by cutting costs, however, Subaru is upgrading the base model Impreza with its naturally aspirated, 180-horsepower, 2.5-liter flat-four cylinder engine. Previously, base units were powered by a 2.0-liter flat-four making 153 horsepower. All 2027 Impreza models are paired with Subaru's characteristic Lineartronic continuously variable transmission, and all of them will feature paddle shifters for the 2027 model year. Other notable improvements for the new year include new interior materials on the center console and revised door panel materials. Base Impreza units will come standard with dark gray 17-inch alloy wheels, Tricot cloth upholstery, dual-zone automatic climate control, and a somewhat dated dual 7.0-inch multimedia system touchscreen system; the upper screen handles vehicle infotainment, while the lower one handles for climate controls and vehicle settings. (It also includes physical controls for temperature, volume, tuning, and functions such as radio, media, and phone.) EyeSight Driver Assist Technology is also standard, as are Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, but you'll have to plug your phone in. Advertisement - Continue Reading Below The Impreza RS will be the only other trim level available for the new year. It matches its 2026 model year MSRP at $30,740, and the 2027 Subaru Impreza RS adds dark gray 18-inch alloy wheels, black RS cloth interior upholstery, fog lights, and a Crystal Black Silica roof spoiler. A 11.6-inch multimedia system is standard on RS models. An upgraded wireless smartphone charger with enhanced performance is also new for 2027. The RS model also receives a standard all-weather package with heated front seats, mirrors, and windshield wiper de-icer; 10-way adjustable power seats and a 10-speaker Harman Kardon audio system are available for an additional $2070. The 2027 Impreza models will be available in Crystal Black Silica, Crystal White Pearl, Ice Silver Metallic, Magnetite Gray Metallic, Sapphire Blue Pearl, and the newly available Ignition Red exterior colors. A Citron Yellow Pearl premium paint is available for $395 MSRP. Subaru expects 2027 Impreza models to arrive at retailers in late 2026.
