Requirements

Responsibilities
  • Build and extend GenAI agents and automation that scale incident detection, triage, and resolution across the team.
  • Develop deep technical ownership of transactional systems, including Point Of Sale, Apple Financial Services, Carrier Services, Runner, and Catalog, to investigate, debug, and resolve complex production incidents with speed and precision.
  • Lead root cause analysis using application logs, telemetry, observability platforms, and ML-driven insights, partnering with engineering and leadership to prioritize and drive resolution.
  • Contribute to the design and development of functional requirements, technical specifications, and support documentation for automation and process improvement initiatives.
  • Partner cross-functionally with engineering teams and business stakeholders to enhance product delivery, support strategy for new launches, and continuously improve service quality.
  • Coordinate with the globally distributed team of consultants to ensure consistent execution of support functions.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation to support critical applications and services, including infrequent non-standard hours and weekend coverage.
Desired Qualifications
  • Hands-on experience building and orchestrating agentic workflows with state-of-the-art language models, large language model-based automation, or artificial-intelligence-augmented operational tooling.
  • Demonstrated ability to work across distributed systems, application programming interfaces, and microservices at an architectural level, including understanding how failures propagate across system boundaries.
  • Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/TLS, and load balancing, with the ability to diagnose connectivity issues between distributed systems.
  • Strong root cause analysis skills using diverse data sources, including application logs, telemetry, and customer feedback.
  • Experience with scripting languages, preferably Python, for log analysis, data investigation, and lightweight automation of operational workflows.
  • Experience coordinating with distributed teams across multiple time zones.
  • Familiarity with continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines, Git-based version control, and release management and deployment processes.
  • Experience with data visualization and analysis tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
  • Proficiency in Information Technology Infrastructure Library practices, including incident, problem, and change management.
  • Experience validating data feeds between SAP modules (MM, SD, and FI) and downstream retail systems, with the ability to identify and troubleshoot discrepancies in inventory, pricing, and order data.
  • Previous experience supporting eCommerce platforms or retail or payment systems at scale is a plus.

Sept 3: BASF sued Apple on Thursday, accusing the iPhone maker of infringing the German chemical company's patented face authentication technology in many iPhone and iPad models. In its complaint, BASF's trinamiX unit said it spent the last decade developing technology to address a security gap that makes conventional face recognition systems vulnerable to spoofing, where fraudsters defeat face unlock features by using photographs, 3D-printed masks and silicone replicas. The complaint said Apple did not employ BASF's patented technology when it launched face authentication, known as Face ID, in 2017 with the iPhone X, but now uses it in a variety of iPhone 15, iPhone 16, iPhone 17, iPad Pro and other products. "Apple knew or should have known of the high probability that updating its iPhones and iPads to incorporate Face ID using material and skin detection" infringed seven trinamiX patents, causing "substantial damages and irreparable injury," the complaint said. BASF's lawsuit in the U.S. District Court in Midland, Texas seeks unspecified damages and a halt to further infringements. Apple did not immediately respond to requests for comment. The Cupertino, California-based company sold $196.5 billion of iPhones and $21.7 billion of iPads in the nine months ending June 27. According to the complaint, trinamiX's origins date from 2010, when BASF scientists working on organic solar cells made unexpected discoveries that led to the building of early three-dimensional camera prototypes. BASF created trinamiX in 2014 as a stand-alone entity to develop advanced 3D and material sensing technologies, and trinamiX holds more than 800 granted or pending patents worldwide, the complaint said.
