SSCP-Owned Applebee's in Texas, California and Virginia bring back "buy a Hero a Bud" in anticipation of Veterans Day. October 1, 2026 · · Beginning Today, guests can buy a Bud for a neighborhood military hero; Unclaimed funds will again benefit Folds of Honor. Dallas, TX (RestaurantNews.com) SSCP, an Applebee's franchisee operating in Texas, California, and Virginia, announced today that it will bring back its "Buy A Hero A Bud" program in partnership with Anheuser-Busch, alongside Applebee's national Veterans Day promotion on November 11. Beginning today and continuing through Veterans Day, guests at SSCP-owned Applebee's can "Buy A Hero A Bud" for a local veteran or active-duty service member, redeemable at the restaurant. SSCP will again donate funds from unclaimed Bud beers to Folds of Honor, which provides educational scholarships to families of America's fallen or disabled military members and first responders. "Veterans Day at Applebee's has always been special to us, but Buy A Hero A Bud makes the connection between our guests and local military heroes even more personal," said SSCP's Vice President of Marketing Blake Roe. "A guest can buy a beer for someone they may never meet, and on Veterans Day that veteran learns a neighbor thought enough of their service and sacrifice to say thank you. We saw what that meant to people when we launched the program, and we are proud to bring it back again." Now entering its fourth year, Buy A Hero A Bud builds on three years of support from SSCP Applebee's guests. To date, guests at SSCP-owned Applebee's have pre-purchased more than 15,000 Buds for local military heroes, and SSCP has donated more than $30,000 to Folds of Honor. In 2025 alone, guests pre-bought 3,532 Budweiser, Bud Light and Budweiser Zero beers, generating more than $7,700 for Folds of Honor. SSCP has always prioritized supporting military members in its neighborhoods. In 2007, when SSCP owner Sunil Dharod purchased his Texas Applebee's restaurants, he was among the early Applebee's franchise owners to offer free meals to veterans on Veterans Day. This tradition has since become an industry standard. Buy A Hero A Bud extends that spirit by letting guests directly honor military members in their own communities. About SSCP SSCP Management is a family-owned and operated, award-winning restaurant leader. Sunil Dharod, the owner and CEO, founded the company in Dallas, Texas and is a renowned businessman and philanthropist. Anheuser-Busch invests $23 million in Fort Collins Brewery.

Anheuser-Busch invests $23 million in Fort Collins Brewery. September 21, 2026 Brewery expansion will increase Michelob ULTRA production, rail capacity and workforce training. FORT COLLINS, Colo. - Anheuser-Busch is investing $23 million in its Fort Collins brewery, expanding production capacity and establishing a new technical training center for employees at the longtime Northern Colorado manufacturing facility. The company announced the investment Sept. 21, saying the improvements will help the brewery increase production of Michelob ULTRA and add the capability to produce 25-ounce cans. The project will also expand rail capacity at the facility, strengthening transportation operations and distribution. The Fort Collins brewery has operated since 1988 and produces more than 48 brands, including Michelob ULTRA, Busch Light, Budweiser and Bud Light. Anheuser-Busch said it has invested $93 million in its Fort Collins facilities since 2021. "Our investment in the Fort Collins Brewery strengthens our ability to brew and deliver the world-class beers consumers know and love, including Michelob ULTRA," Anheuser-Busch CEO Brendan Whitworth said. "As a proud American manufacturer, investments at this scale help fuel economic growth, create and sustain high-quality jobs, and reinforce our long-term commitment to the communities where we live and work." Training center planned. Part of the investment will establish a technical skills training center inside the Fort Collins brewery. It will be one of 15 such centers Anheuser-Busch plans to open around the country. The center will provide training for operators and technicians working with electrical and mechanical systems used in brewery equipment. Anheuser-Busch said its broader goal is to provide additional skills training to more than 90% of its manufacturing workforce during the next five years. Colorado State Rep. Andrew Boesenecker, D-Larimer, said the investment demonstrates continued confidence in the Northern Colorado workforce. "This facility has been a backbone of Fort Collins' economy for 38 years, providing hundreds of quality manufacturing jobs and strengthening our local tax base," Boesenecker said. The Fort Collins investment is part of Anheuser-Busch's broader $600 million commitment to its U.S. operations during 2025 and 2026 through the company's Brewing Futures initiative. The program focuses on manufacturing facilities, workforce development and career opportunities. The Fort Collins brewery also serves another role during emergencies. Along with the company's Cartersville, Georgia, brewery, the facility produces canned emergency drinking water for communities affected by disasters. Anheuser-Busch says it has produced more than 100 million cans of emergency drinking water since the program began in 1988. Halloween beer review: Shocktop Candy Corn Wheat.

Halloween beer review: Shocktop Candy Corn Wheat. I know I teased on instagram that I would be reviewing Halloween Sunny D today, but I had to pull a wild card! I was able to secure a 6 pack of honest to goodness Candy Corn flavored beer. In a partnership between Shocktop beer and Spirit Halloween. Some back story on shock top. I turned 21 in 2003, right about the time Blue Moon was blowing up on the scene and the verge of the craft beer boom. Blue Moon was the first beer I tried that I really liked, and it got me into craft beer and pumpkin ales. I went to the beer distributor to buy a case of Blue Moon "Harvest Pumpkin Wheat" one October (it used to be only sold in October) and they didn't have it, and the guy said it was crap and sold me on a case of Fegley's local pumpkin ale. The craft beer boom made Anheuser-Busch to make Shock Top to compete with Coors' Blue Moon. A lot of people said it was crap, I never really liked it. But I kept drinking Wheat Beers. I was at Ye Old Tavern one night and asked for a blue moon. They didnt have it but gave me a Sam Adams White Ale, at the time their Spring beer. I became obsessed and that summer I had my first Sam Summer Ale, and the rest is history (it's still to this day my favorite beer) Anyway, Shocktop was sold off in 2023 because of bunch of people got their precious feelings hurt that bud light gave a personalized can of their shitty beer to a trans woman. In a free for all, they unloaded assets and sold Shocktop to Tilray brands. Here Rad Years is today, they partnered with Spirit Halloween to make a Candy Corn Wheat Ale and I'm going to try it for you today and let you know what I think. It honestly smells like candy corn, it's insane. I took a small sip first and it doesn't tase much like a wheat beer and it isn't cloudy like a wheat beer, but it does have a Candy Corn aftertaste, and as someone who doesn't care for Candy Corn I say that in a good way. It's not overly sweet, I could probably drink a 6 pack of this. This beer is definitely something you should stock alongside some pumpkin beer and beer wolf and Elvira approved Coors lights (for decoration only) for any Halloween party's you're throwing this year. Shock Top's website say's it's Flavor Cues are Candy Corn and So good, it's scary. They say it's Pairings are with Halloween Parties, Sneaking Extra Candy and Wearing your new Wedgehead jumpsuit (which is Shocktop's mascot costume you can buy exclusively at Spirit Halloween). And it has an ABV of 5.0% I love this beer, and I picked up 2 six packs of it, I'll prob save them for trick or Treat night, alongside some good Pumpkin beers (which I plan to review a bunch in October) Are you gonna go hunt for Candy Corn beer? Or do you think this sounds gross? Let me know in the comments
