What believers are saying

  • eCapital partnered with AtoB in July 2026, expanding distribution into factoring clients.
  • AtoB still advertises 35,000-plus fleets and 4,200-plus truck stops in August 2026.
  • Mastercard partnership deepens acceptance and supports broader merchant expansion across 2026.

What critics are saying

  • AtoB cut 30% of staff in October 2022; operating leverage remains fragile.
  • WEX and Corpay dominate fleet payments; AtoB lacks their merchant density.
  • Small-carrier defaults hit fuel-credit economics hardest during 2026 freight weakness.

What makes AtoB unique

  • AtoB runs fleet cards on Mastercard, not closed-loop trucking networks.
  • AtoB combines fuel payments, instant payroll, and spend controls in one workflow.
  • AtoB’s telematics-linked authorization blocks fraud using GPS and driver verification.

Geotab embeds AtoB's payments platform to verify fuel purchases against vehicle data before approval

AtoB has partnered with Geotab to launch the Geotab Fleet Card, making Geotab the first fleet management platform to embed AtoB's payments platform. The card verifies fuel purchases against vehicle data before approval, preventing unauthorised transactions. The integration brings spend controls across 13 categories, including fuel, maintenance and tolls, directly into Geotab's platform. Fuel purchases are declined if the vehicle isn't at the pump or the tank lacks capacity. Cardholders access AtoB's fuel discount network, saving an average of 42 cents per gallon at over 4,200 diesel truck stops and 5 cents per gallon at 30,000 petrol stations. Eligible accounts receive fraud protection up to $250,000. The card operates natively within Geotab's system, allowing fleet operators to manage transactions, approvals and reporting alongside existing vehicle data. It's now available to eligible US fleets using the Geotab platform.

Can Fleet Management Serve As Beacon For Platformization Of Connected Economy?

Bit by bit the smokestack economy — and the subsets thereof — come online, go digital, find new ways to connect stakeholders. And as counterintuitive as it might seem, fleet management, among the most smokestacky of the stacks, is inching toward becoming a beacon of connectivity, serving perhaps as a roadmap for other sectors. Trucking, of course, remains a key way of getting goods hither and yon. Late last year, the American Trucking Association reported that tonnage will grow to 14.2 billion tons within the next decade, up from a bit more than 11 billion tons in 2023

Roadz plans to integrate generative AI capabilities into the Unified Fleet Workspace, enabling fleet managers to ask questions about their fleet operations using natural language, according to the release. This integration, which is expected to be announced in March, will provide actionable insights based on unified fleet data, facilitating effective decision-making
