About the job
- A secondary school diploma (DES) or an attestation of college studies (AEC).
- A bachelor's degree in a related field.
- Three to five years of experience in a similar role.
- Experience managing employees in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to work autonomously and resourcefully.
- Teamwork and flexibility.
- Strong communication abilities.
- Leadership and collaboration with the team.
- French proficiency rated 5/5 spoken and 4/5 written.
- English proficiency rated 3/5 spoken and written, including the ability to hold basic conversations with English-speaking employees and provide clear, precise work instructions when needed.
- Ensure production objectives are achieved by planning, controlling, and evaluating results, and provide employee training when needed.
- Coordinate production processes in accordance with company policies, regulations, and legal obligations.
- Ensure the plant operates properly and coordinate production and employees.
- Contribute to continuous improvement and achievement of the company's key objectives.
- Manage plant priorities during the shift.
- Prepare detailed production reports.
- Maintain production quantity and quality targets.
- Ensure all employees work safely.
- Monitor employee attendance and follow up on absenteeism as needed.
- Participate actively in the disciplinary management process.
- Participate in lockout inspections.
- Participate in hot work permit management.
- Lead daily production meetings.
- Oversee equipment repairs.
- Work with the quality department to maintain standards.
- Participate in inventory counts.
- Help organize work schedules, including vacations, personal days, absences, and other leave.
- Enforce the collective agreement.
