- Promote patient independence by establishing patient care goals and teaching patients and families about conditions, medications, and self-care skills.
- Assume responsibility and accountability for assigned patients as a member of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Supervise and provide care to assigned patients using the nursing process, including the therapeutic use of self.
