Insurance moves: Corgi, Clyde & Co, Duck Creek, Bishop Street and Starkweather

Insurance moves: Corgi, Clyde & Co, Duck Creek, Bishop Street and starkweather. They include a new chief sales officer and a new head of trucking underwriting Oct 13, 2026 This week's moves include another senior trucking hire at an AI-focused carrier, a leadership change at two MGAs owned by RedBird Capital, and appointments in insurance technology, coverage litigation and commercial broking. Corgi names head of trucking underwriting. Corgi Insurance has appointed Daniel Oldham (pictured, left) as head of underwriting for trucking. He will oversee risk selection, pricing, portfolio management, product development and broker relationships for Corgi's trucking business. Oldham was previously vice president and head of transportation at Canopius Group, where he grew the transportation book from $10 million to $39 million while keeping it profitable. While there, he also launched a cannabis transportation program and an admitted trucking program. He has also held underwriting roles at NBIS and Great West Casualty Company, and started his career in brokerage. Oldham's arrival follows Corgi's appointment of Stephen Segroves as head of pricing for its trucking program last month. Hiring for both pricing and underwriting in quick succession points to a serious push into commercial auto. For brokers placing fleet business in one of the hardest lines, an experienced underwriter with a background in brokerage could make Corgi a more accessible market. Clyde & Co adds California automotive warranty partner. Law firm Clyde & Co has hired Ani Tolmoyan (pictured, center) as a partner in its California automotive and warranty litigation practice in Los Angeles. She joins from Lewis Brisbois, where she advised automotive manufacturers on California warranty litigation. California's warranty and consumer protection laws generate significant litigation for carmakers, dealers and their insurers, especially as new vehicle technologies raise new liability questions. Duck Creek names chief sales officer. Duck Creek has promoted William Magowan (pictured, right) to chief sales officer, leading its global sales organization. Magowan has been with the core systems provider for more than 13 years and was most recently senior vice president of sales, a role he had expanded from North America to EMEA and APAC. CEO Hardeep Gulati said Duck Creek was entering its 2027 fiscal year from a position of strength, after one of the largest years of new bookings in its history. Carriers' investment in core systems and AI underwriting tools will shape how quickly they can quote, bind and service business through brokers. Bishop Street names new Conifer and AIM leader. Bishop Street Underwriters, a RedBird Capital Partners portfolio company, has promoted Rick Fiato to the new role of chief business officer. He will lead legal, compliance and human resources across Bishop Street and its operating companies. Fiato was chief executive of Conifer Insurance Services (CIS) and president of Aerospace Insurance Managers (AIM). Bill Wilson succeeds him in both roles. Wilson spent more than a decade in leadership at VGM Insurance, where he built an agent and broker network covering all 50 states and expanded specialty programs in healthcare, golf and hospitality. Fiato will stay on the boards of CIS and AIM to support the transition. Agents placing hospitality and specialty programs with Conifer now have a leader with a background in building programs and distribution networks. That suggests growth through agency partnerships is a priority. Starkweather & Shepley adds Naples commercial adviser. Starkweather & Shepley has hired Robert Saucier as a commercial risk advisor in its Naples, Florida office. He has 20 years of experience, focused on construction and contracting, manufacturing, and wholesale distribution. The hire adds construction and contracting expertise in Southwest Florida, a fast-growing market where contractor and builder's risk exposures continue to rise.

Duck Creek names Andy Moss as GM of Underwriting and Lloyd Peters as GM of EMEA. 9th October 2026 - Author: Saumya Jain - Duck Creek, an insurance technology provider focused on core systems and digital capabilities for insurers, has appointed Andy Moss as General Manager (GM) of Underwriting and Lloyd Peters as Vice President and General Manager for Europe, the Middle-East, and Africa (EMEA). The appointments follow Duck Creek's previously announced acquisition of Send Technology Solutions Ltd in July 2026. Moss co-founded Send and previously served as its Chief Executive Officer (CEO), he will now report to Hardeep Gulati, CEO, Duck Creek. His remit includes leading Duck Creek's underwriting business while continuing to oversee the Send product, technology, and customer operations. Additionally, Moss will help enhance Duck Creek's underwriting strategy, and focus on strengthening the company's Agentic Underwriting Workbench strategy and helping insurers use AI, data, workflows, and decision intelligence to improve underwriting performance. Before founding Send, Moss held technology and architecture leadership roles across the London insurance market, including Chief Technology Officer for DXC Technology's London Insurance Market division, and technical roles at HSBC Global Banking and Markets and Achilles Group. Moss said, "The acquisition of Send created a powerful foundation for Duck Creek to help insurers transform underwriting from a collection of disconnected processes into a more intelligent, orchestrated experience. I'm excited to take on this broader role and continue building on the work Reinsurance Group started at Send. "Together with the team at Duck Creek, we have an opportunity to help insurers make faster, more informed decisions while giving underwriters the technology, data, and intelligence they need to manage increasingly complex risks." In his new role, Peters will report to William Magowan, Chief Sales Officer. He will lead Duck Creek's overall EMEA regional business. Most recently, he served as Head of Revenue at Send, and will continue to lead Send's UK Sales team while also taking on leadership of Duck Creek's Sales organisation across EMEA. The expanded remit will bring the commercial teams together under one regional leader. In the past, Peters spent over a decade with Deloitte advising insurers on business transformation. He then moved into commercial leadership at Send. Peters added, "What excites me most is the breadth of what Reinsurance Group can now offer. Duck Creek and Send together give insurers a complete underwriting and core platform, built on an agentic foundation and backed by a clear vision of how AI will deliver measurable business value. "With a Duck Creek team that is committed to the region, coverage across every market segment, and significant opportunity in the London and specialty markets in particular, I'm looking forward to bringing our commercial teams together and turning that opportunity into growth across EMEA."
