Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of an accredited Phlebotomy Program or Medical Assistant Program that includes phlebotomy, or a minimum of 6 months of experience in phlebotomy.
Responsibilities
  • Perform phlebotomy and related specimen collection for inpatients and outpatients of all age groups for a variety of laboratory tests.
  • Obtain blood specimens by venipuncture and capillary methods, as well as urine specimens, from all age groups for laboratory tests and procedures used in the diagnosis and treatment of disease.
  • Provide specimen collection and test preparation information to nursing staff, patients, and family members as appropriate.
Desired Qualifications
  • ASCP or equivalent certification.
