Top security executives gather at ISCPO Mexico City Summit to discuss Supply Chain issues.

Top security executives gather at ISCPO Mexico City Summit to discuss Supply Chain issues. October 6, 2026 News, tactics, career guidance, and technological developments for retail loss prevention professionals. Last week, the International Supply Chain Protection Organization (ISCPO), in partnership with Verkada, hosted the ISCPO 2026 Mexico City Supply Chain Security Summit at Club Piso 51 in Mexico City. The second annual summit convened senior executives and operational leaders across security, logistics, loss prevention, and corporate risk management to tackle the most critical supply chain security challenges facing organizations operating in LATAM today. The summit featured a diverse agenda of speakers and panel discussions, providing attendees with valuable insights and networking opportunities. As cargo theft, distributed operations, and regional risk vectors grow increasingly complex, the summit provided actionable strategies to build connected, proactive, and resilient security frameworks. Key themes examined throughout the day included: * Cargo Theft & Supply Chain Protection: Emerging trends and preventative strategies to reduce operational vulnerabilities across transit routes. * Artificial Intelligence & Cloud-Based Physical Security: How AI and centralized cloud platforms accelerate threat detection, streamline incident investigations, and transform video metadata into actionable intelligence. * Crisis Management & Operational Resilience: Protocols for maintaining business continuity and rapid incident response during supply chain disruptions. * Public-Private Collaboration: Strengthening intelligence sharing between private sector security teams and local authorities. Byron Smith CFI, LPC, president and chairman of the ISCPO, remarked on the event's success: "Managing supply chain risk in today's environment requires more than static defenses - it requires real-time visibility, intelligence sharing, and integrated technology. The summit brings leaders together in Mexico City to discuss modern approaches that protect not only physical assets and inventory, but also the workforce supporting these critical networks." - Digital Partner - The success of the ISCPO Mexico City Summit sets the stage for the organization's upcoming international events. Future summits will be in London (October 15th), focusing on European market trends and innovations, and Toronto (November 18th), exploring the unique challenges and opportunities within the North American landscape. These gatherings will provide networking opportunities and discussions on critical topics impacting the global supply chain. Verkada expands physical AI platform with transportation, audio and MCP tools.

Verkada expands physical AI platform with transportation, audio and MCP tools. September 17, 2026 Managing physical security increasingly involves more than monitoring fixed cameras and building entrances. Enterprise teams are being asked to connect vehicle fleets, access systems, sensors, audio infrastructure and AI-assisted workflows while maintaining centralized control over increasingly distributed operations. Verkada is expanding its cloud-based physical security platform around that model, introducing new transportation security, enterprise audio and AI integration capabilities at its annual VerkadaOne customer conference in Miami. More than 2,500 IT and physical security leaders attended the event, where the company detailed products spanning fleet operations, computer vision, building access and automated incident response. One of the largest additions is Verkada Transportation, which extends the company's video security platform to vehicles and mobile assets. The product combines video security and remote fleet management in a single cloud-managed environment. The transportation lineup includes three ruggedized camera models and a vehicle gateway with 5G and Wi-Fi connectivity, along with vehicle diagnostics integration and an updated Command interface. Security teams can retrieve footage from moving and parked vehicles, analyze driving events across a fleet and search activity using criteria including GPS location, driving behavior and vehicle health. The system also supports face blurring for passenger privacy. Verkada is also moving into enterprise audio with Sound Systems, a cloud-managed platform for controlling ambient music, announcements and other audio functions. Rather than requiring organizations to manage separate applications, local consoles and vendor portals, the product brings audio management into a single interface. The lineup includes Network Audio Players that connect existing third-party speakers and amplifiers to Verkada Command, allowing companies to retain some installed audio hardware. Verkada is also offering Network Speakers using Power over Ethernet connectivity for deployments built around its cloud platform. Another addition, Catalyst, connects Verkada's physical security environment with third-party AI systems through Model Context Protocol, or MCP. The read-only integration for Command supports approved AI platforms including ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini and is intended to let enterprise teams build operational workflows, reports and integrations using natural-language instructions. Potential workflows range from checking whether retail shelves are stocked to automatically generating an IT ticket when a camera or sensor loses network connectivity. Catalyst is initially being deployed with read-only access, limiting what connected AI agents can change while allowing them to use information from the physical environment. Verkada also introduced new computer vision alerts for operational and security scenarios. They include wrong-way-driving detection for industrial facilities, blocked-door alerts, container identification for logistics operations and concealment and grab-and-run detection aimed at retail loss prevention. A new Live mode for Unified Timeline is designed to support real-time investigations. The company's camera portfolio is expanding with a thermal series designed to identify people and vehicles in low-light conditions, adverse weather and environments where vegetation or other objects may obstruct visibility. Verkada also introduced six FIPS-validated camera models intended for government deployments. An integration with Skydio adds another layer to incident response. When specified alerts occur in Command, the system can transmit camera GPS coordinates to Skydio, triggering deployment of an autonomous drone to the location. Video from the drone can then be brought into Command alongside other security footage. Building operations updates include the TK74 Touchscreen Intercom for multi-tenant properties, an AW33 Wireless Access Controller, AI-assisted reception capabilities and employee check-in tools. Verkada is also adding a 10-zone BP42 Alarm Panel, fire alarm monitoring and its Better Sensor Protocol, which supports daisy-chaining as many as 200 sensors across large facilities. Verkada Maps, meanwhile, creates a 3D digital representation of facilities inside Command. Devices can be viewed from the map, with the relevant equipment highlighted when an alert occurs and a live preview showing the event that triggered it. Software updates are scheduled to begin rolling out Oct. 8, while new hardware is expected to start shipping during October and November. Verkada said its platform is used by more than 30,000 organizations across 170 countries, including more than 100 Fortune 500 companies.

Verkada launches transportation security, cloud-managed audio and MCP integration for physical AI platform

Verkada has launched several new products to expand its physical security platform. The company introduced Verkada Transportation, featuring ruggedised cameras and a 5G/Wi-Fi vehicle gateway for protecting people and assets in transit. Security teams can access footage from moving or parked vehicles and review fleet-wide driving events. The firm also unveiled Sound Systems, offering cloud-based control for enterprise audio through a single interface. This eliminates the need for separate apps and local consoles traditionally required for enterprise sound systems. Additionally, Verkada introduced Catalyst, a read-only Model Context Protocol integration enabling customers to connect AI platforms like Claude, ChatGPT, and Gemini. Teams can create custom operational workflows using natural language. Software updates roll out from 8 October, with hardware shipping in October and November.
