Primark signs multi-year deal with Circ to use recycled material from textile waste in clothing lines.

Primark signs multi-year deal with Circ to use recycled material from textile waste in clothing lines. International fashion retailer Primark and textile-to-textile recycling company Circ announced a new multi-year offtake agreement, aimed at introducing recycled polyester made from textile waste into Primark clothing beginning in 2029 and reducing the retailer's reliance on virgin polyester. The agreement marks Primark's first multi-year offtake agreement with a textile-to-textile recycler, the company said. Virginia-based Circ develops technology designed to recycle polycotton blended textiles, which have historically been difficult to recycle, by separating and recovering polyester and cellulose from textile waste for reuse in textile supply chains. Under the agreement, the recycled polyester supplied to Primark will be produced at Circ's commercial facility, supporting the company's first industrial-scale textile-to-textile recycling facility. The plant will source textile feedstock globally, including post-consumer and post-industrial waste, with sourcing from several locations, including European textile waste. Peter Majeranowski, Circ CEO, said: "This partnership with Primark represents exactly the kind of long-term commercial commitment needed to move textile-to-textile recycling from innovation to industry standard. When a global fashion retailer commits to integrating recycled materials into future collections, it sends a powerful signal across the industry: the demand is here, the materials are ready, and the opportunity to scale circular material supply chains is real." Primark said the agreement supports its efforts to increase the use of circular materials and reduce reliance on virgin polyester. Through its Primark Cares strategy, the company is also working to extend the life of clothes and materials and reduce waste through circular design, reuse and repair initiatives. Lynn Walker, Director, Primark Cares, said: "This partnership is an important milestone in accelerating our ambitions to further embed circularity in our business and help scale innovative textile-to-textile recycling solutions that could play a transformational role in the future of fashion."

Care Bears eyes next chapter of growth across UK and EMEA.

Care Bears eyes next chapter of growth across UK and EMEA. By Samantha Loveday September 29, 2026 With its 45th anniversary approaching in 2027, Care Bears continues to strengthen its global presence, with the UK and EMEA playing an important role in the brand's success. Toys and collectables, fashion and softlines, and health and beauty are among the strongest categories, with new launches and retail partnerships reaching a multi-generational audience. "Care Bears has an incredibly powerful emotional connection with consumers, and we see tremendous opportunity to build on that as we approach the brand's 45th anniversary in 2027," commented Simon Philips, evp character brands at Authentic. "The growth we're seeing across toys, fashion and health and beauty demonstrates both the versatility of the brand and its ongoing relevance to today's consumer." Goliath launched Care Bears Clickeez in the UK, while ZURU will introduce Care Bears to its Hug-A-Lumps plush line globally in December. Basic Fun! continues to grow its range with Sweet Blooms and Cutie Companions (pictured), while Just Play is bringing Care Bears into its Happy Haul unboxing format. Long-standing EMEA plush partner, Simba has further extensions planned for 2027, while partnerships with MINISO and POPMART continue to build. The anniversary year will also see the return of the Care Bear Cousins, creating another avenue for anniversary-led product development. Fashion and softlines have become an increasingly important category, with Care Bears building across mass, high street, fashion and premium retail. Primark launches a new kids' apparel collection this October through licensees Blues Group and Aykroyds, joining an extensive European footprint that includes ZARA, Pull&Bear, Sinsay, Reserved, Character.com, George at Asda, Matalan, Sainsbury's, Morrisons and Very. In France, Le Bon Marché is carrying an exclusive Hello Kitty and Friends x Care Bears collection produced by Sahinler. Footwear marks another step forward for the brand this year, with adidas Originals (pictured), Skechers and Leomil giving fans the chance to walk on the clouds with their favourite characters, a natural extension of the brand's growing fashion credentials. Health and beauty is quickly developing into a significant new pillar for Care Bears. Cosnova's essence x Care Bears Trend Edition (main image) brings the brand into colour cosmetics across major international markets, while Air-Val International is expanding its fragrance and personal care presence across Europe. In the UK, International Stock's 23-piece bath, body and skincare collection at Home Bargains has delivered strong early performance, demonstrating the potential for Care Bears' message of positivity and self-expression to translate naturally into the self-care space. The momentum will continue into 2027, with the return of the Care Bear Cousins forming part of a wider 45th anniversary program spanning new partnerships, collaborations and brand activity. Further details of the brand's 45th anniversary program will be announced in the months ahead. Care Bears will be on stand A201 at Brand Licensing Europe (6-8 October, London's Excel).
