- A bachelor's degree (B.S./B.A.) from a four-year college or university, five to ten years of related construction-industry experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to perform the essential duties satisfactorily, with reasonable accommodations available for individuals with disabilities.
- Competence in selling skills, territory management, training, relationship building, customer satisfaction, planning, organization, time management, negotiation, problem solving, initiative, business-plan execution, product and industry knowledge, and budget management.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business publications, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations; write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals; and present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the public.
- Ability to use probability and statistical inference, and apply fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Ability to solve practical problems and handle varied situations with limited standardization.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook calendaring, and customer relationship management software.
- Knowledge of basic residential and commercial construction, window and door products, and the competitive landscape.
- Ability to accurately read, interpret, and take off blueprints.
- Ability to coach and train others on selling strategies and product knowledge.
- Ability to maintain a valid driver's license and travel 50%–75%, including overnight stays.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including regularly standing and walking and occasionally lifting or moving up to 100 pounds.
- Ability to work with occasional outdoor weather exposure and noise that may be moderate or loud at job sites.
Responsibilities
- Partner with assigned accounts to influence sales staff to surpass predetermined sales goals in the territory.
- Educate assigned accounts and customers and establish expertise in fenestration, including detailed knowledge of competitors.
- Read, interpret, and take off blueprints to help customers acquire and grow new-construction builder business.
- Develop and maintain strong business and personal relationships within accounts and with customers.
- Coach and train others on selling strategies and product knowledge.
- Conduct planning meetings that produce actionable plans and ongoing discussions to achieve sales goals.
- Communicate regularly with Sales Management and Marketing, providing input and feedback on products, programs, and policies.
- Develop business plans with accounts to improve sales performance and meet sales goals.
- Help accounts develop builder relationships to acquire and maintain new business opportunities.
- Represent Pella at trade shows and events.
- Execute sales activities to meet territory objectives and provide input on strategic initiatives to increase sales and profitability.
- Manage a personal budget for travel and training expenses.
- Serve as the primary communication link between Pella and customers, accurately representing the Pella brand and product offerings.
- Answer customer questions and resolve concerns promptly to maximize customer satisfaction within Pella business guidelines.
- Use customer relationship management software while working remotely and use Microsoft Office proficiently.
