The Sims 4 is bringing the movies home as Clueless and Mean Girls bring their looks to the game. August 19, 2026 Electronic Arts have announced that The Sims 4 is going to make fetch happen next week when Mean Girls and Clueless bring their iconic looks into the game via two new capsule kits. The Mean Girls Capsule Kit makes fetch happen with stylish Y2K looks that'll turn Sims into teen royalty, and there's no limit to all the ways players can mix and match styles. Whether they're strutting the halls in miniskirts and matching sweaters, getting ready for a rockin' jingle bell performance with a festive matching hat, repping the Mathletes with the signature team jackets, or showing everyone they're a COOL mom in a comfy velour tracksuit, every outfit is built for attitude. Maxi-Geek is sorry if anyone gets jealous of your Sim, but they simply can't help being popular. The Clueless Capsule Kit will bring chic '90s looks that'll have the whole neighbourhood jealous, adding a fresh dose of retro glamour to your wardrobe. Inspired by the film's unforgettable fashion, this collection is packed with nostalgic outfits thoughtfully updated for a new age of stories. Layered tops, button-front skirts, sporty workout wear and Tai-inspired overalls make it simple to mix, match and craft standout looks, whether your Sim is "rollin' with the homies" or confidently flying solo. How EA FC 27 Evolutions let you build your own player with new Pathways & Evolution Chain Preview? Posted: Aug 19, 2026 EA dedicated a significant portion of their FUT Deep Dive for FC 27 to Evolutions, including the new Pathways, Evolution Chain Preview, and the updated PlayStyles Lab, claiming to provide players with more options and more comprehensive planning tools. How exactly do these work, how will they change Ultimate Team gameplay, and which players are suitable for Evolutions? I will explain in detail below. The traditional positioning of Evolutions. Since its introduction to UT in FC 24, the core positioning of Evolutions has never been simply to make low-rated players stronger. Instead, it allows players to gradually upgrade specific players in their club through missions, ultimately creating a unique, untradeable card with individual characteristics. The basic process of Evolutions remains unchanged: select eligible players to add to the Evolution, complete challenges such as matches, and then receive permanent attribute or trait upgrades. Meanwhile, the studio will continue to release new Evolutions throughout the game. In FIFA 27, the focus shifted to player-driven upgrade decisions and pre-planned upgrade strategies. In FUT Deep Dive, Pathways and Evolution Chain Preview were explicitly defined as two core updates to the game's Evolutions system. FC 27 Evolutions new content. Pathways. Previously, an Evolution generally followed a fixed path; the attributes and playstyle a player would receive after selection were usually predetermined. FUT 27 allows some Evolutions to branch during upgrades, allowing players to choose between different enhancement directions. For example, the same midfielder could choose an offensive path, improving dribbling and gaining Technical; or a defensive path, improving defensive awareness and gaining Jockey. In other words, the same base card entering the same Evolution could result in two completely different players depending on the player's choices. Of course, not all Evolutions use Pathways; traditional linear Evolutions still exist. Evolution Chain Preview. A major problem when planning Evolutions was: after placing a player in one Evolution, would they still be usable in the next? FC 27 directly incorporated this planning feature into the game. Players can preview the changes an Evolution will bring to a player, and then further view which subsequent Evolutions are available for that player after completing this evolution. Therefore, Evolution is no longer just a series of iterations, but has become a long-term development system where players can plan their own paths in advance. PlayStyles Lab update. The biggest change in PlayStyles Lab this time is that players no longer start with a completely unspecified player. Eligible Player Items will come with some PlayStyles, which players can customize in the remaining PlayStyle slots. At the same time, the acquisition conditions for different PlayStyles will also differ; some stronger or more valuable PlayStyles require more time and effort to unlock. This effectively limits the possibility of completely transforming a card into another player, while preserving the space for player customization. The official statement explicitly states that they hope to preserve the original characteristics of players in this way and encourage players to create more diverse lineups and playing styles. After learning about all the changes to Evolutions, are you eager to show off your skills in the new game? Join IGGM FC 27 Facebook group! IGGM is having a free giveaway of FC 27 Editions - participate for a chance to play for free! Impact on Ultimate Team. The biggest change in FUT 27's Evolutions is the significantly increased decision-making cost and planning value for players. Previously, developing an Evo only required judging whether the card was worth evolving. In FIFA 27, however, further considerations are needed: Which Evo is best for this card now? Which Pathway should be chosen? Which Evo can be followed after this? What will the final result be? This means that developing players will now resemble a skill tree more closely. Especially for players with low OVR but good physical attributes or unique playstyle combinations, the value of Evolutions may be further enhanced. This is because they don't necessarily need to be the highest in all attributes; as long as they can form a special configuration that suits their individual tactical needs through continuous Evolutions, they can become long-term starters. Of course, Evolutions are not the whole story of squad building. Whether it's acquiring key players from the Transfer Market or building a more suitable squad around Evo players, a certain amount of FUT resources are required. If needed, you can buy FC 27 coins at IGGM.com to quickly build your roster. Also, don't forget to use its IGGM Points System. Register and log in to your account to earn points through daily check-ins, which can be directly deducted from your order amount. How to select players for evolution? When selecting Evo players in FC 27, it's recommended not to only look at the initial OVR, but to consider the following dimensions: Basic attributes. Core attributes such as speed, defense, and physique determine whether a card can reach a practical level after several upgrades. A player with a lower initial rating but excellent key attributes is often more suitable for Evo than a player whose overall performance is mediocre. PlayStyles. Since Pathways and PlayStyles Lab allow players to further develop players, players who already possess excellent PlayStyles and can compensate for their weaknesses through Evo will have higher potential. Future Evolution Chain. Don't immediately use an Evo that meets the requirements. First, use Evolution Chain Preview to observe whether it can be used to continue with other Evolutions. If a card currently only grants a +3 rating, but can later be included in multiple eligible Evos, its long-term value may far outweigh a one-time larger upgrade. In conclusion, EA Sports FC 27's Evolutions have essentially shifted from simply upgrading players to allowing players to design their own. This is also the biggest change to FUT gameplay brought about by the true integration of Pathways, Evolution Chain Preview, and PlayStyles Lab. Players are no longer just looking for the strongest cards, but for the cards best suited for their long-term development.
Battlefield 6 x Top Gun gameplay trailer shows new jets, Wake Island and more. by Mo K. August 16, 2026 Battlefield Studios and Electronic Arts released the official gameplay trailer for the upcoming Battlefield 6 Top Gun collaboration. It shows off two new jets, Wake Island and a pair of new modes ahead of its August 18 release. And honestly, this one kind of makes sense. I've always heard people talk about those big "Battlefield moments," where a bunch of things come together and stuff just goes crazy. Jets are already naturally part of that. So bringing Top Gun into the mix doesn't exactly feel out of place. What is Battlefield 6 x Top Gun? The new gameplay trailer gives players a look at the F-74A Seacat and F/A-81F Super Spectre in action. Wake Island also makes an appearance. Meanwhile, EA is showing off two new modes, Carrier Strike and Gauntlet: Fighter Sweep. The press release says both modes celebrate Battlefield's scale and Top Gun's iconic cinematic action. That's probably the part of this collaboration that works the easiest for me. Top Gun instantly communicates prestige, fighter jets and big cinematic action. Because of that, it lines up naturally with the kind of "Battlefield moment" the series is already known for. The trailer is really the centerpiece here. It shows the new jets, Wake Island and both modes ahead of the August 18 collaboration. In addition, the Battlefield 6 Top Gun collaboration brings some familiar Top Gun faces along for the ride. Players can jump into the flight boots of Lt. Bradley "Rooster" Bradshaw, played by Miles Teller. Lt. Robert "Bob" Floyd, played by Lewis Pullman, also joins the collaboration. Charles Parnell appears as Adm. Solomon "Warlock" Bates. Overall, the combination makes a lot of sense. Battlefield already has fighter jets, huge battles and moments where everything seems to collide at once. Meanwhile, Top Gun brings the kind of cinematic action that fits pretty comfortably inside that chaos. Finally, the Battlefield 6 Top Gun collaboration arrives August 18. EA says it will be part of Battlefield 6's biggest seasonal update yet. Let Lords of Gaming know what you think of the collaboration in the comments below.
EA game from 2008 just got a new update, 18 years later. August 14, 2026, 2:47pm An EA game from 2008, and a generational classic at that, just got a new update, 18 years after Electronic Arts released it on PS3 and Xbox 360. Those who lived it will remember that 2008 was a hallmark year in terms of video game releases. Headliners included Grand Theft Auto IV, Call of Duty: World at War, Fallout 3, Left 4 Dead, Gears of War 2, Metal Gear Solid 4, Persona 4, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Fable II, Dead Space, LittleBigPlanet, and Mario Kart Wii. These were the headliners. The list of noteworthy games is much longer. All of this is to say, a year like 2008 creates a lot of cult classics and games that would have likely thrived in less loaded years. While not as popular as most of the games above - if not all of them - one of the defining games of 2008, thanks to its unique premise and striking design, was Mirror's Edge, a brand new IP at the time from developer DICE. For those who do not know, DICE is primarily known for Battlefield and Star Wars Battlefront. In 2008, and then in 2016 for its sequel, Mirror's Edge: Catalyst, it took a break from first-person shooters and released the pair of first-person parkour action-adventure games. The IP has been dormant for 10 years now, but the first game just got an update on Steam that makes the 18-year-old PC game Steam Deck Verified. For those who do not know what this means, it means DICE and EA pushed a new update for the game on Steam that added proper support for the Steam Deck. And now Valve can independently confirm the PC game runs from start to finish on Steam Deck, and runs well. There have been instances where a game earns the Steam Deck Verified badge and doesn't run very well, but when this does happen, it is typically newer games only. A unique PS3 and Xbox 360 game. Mirror's Edge is not the best game, but it sticks out as a unique game and is a bona fide underrated classic. At the time, there was nothing quite like it, and this actually hasn't changed really, not in the AAA space. And while the aforementioned 2016 sequel ended up being both a commercial and critical disappointment, effectively ending the series' little bit of hope of continuing, the first game sold a few million copies and earned a solid 81 on Metacritic. Meanwhile, it has an 86% approval rating on Steam from Steam users, which gives it a "Very Positive" rating, the second-highest rating possible on the platform, where it costs $20. Does it hold up in 2026? Yes. Very well and more so than most games from this era, predominantly thanks to its design, which has aged well, but also because it was ahead of its time. There are aspects of the game that look and feel dated, but not in a particularly noticeable way. In fact, it more or less looks like what an AA studio would make if they made a first-person parkour game in 2026.
Battlefield 6 x Top Gun crossover flies out on aug. 18 bringing new jets, skins, modes. by Alex Co August 14, 2026 11:37 am in News It's been four weeks since DICE and EA have released the Season 4 content for Battlefield 6, and it's about time for a refresh. This won't be your standard seasonal update, however, as EA has partnered with Paramount Pictures to bring the Top Gun movie franchise to Battlefield 6. Kicking off on August 18, this collab will bring the Carrier Assault mode to the game, two new fighter jets, and character skins from the Top Gun movie franchise (and nope, Tom Cruise isn't one of 'em, sadly). While getting a refund from any digital storefront means you either haven't downloaded the title or played it that much, there are certain cases where a refund is issued even if it doesn't look like it's warranted. For a look at what to expect, check out the trailer and info. If you're not a fan of Top Gun, there's also the return of Wake Island to the game set to be released at the same time too. Battlefield 6 x Top Gun sees new jets and modes. Players can expect to see two new jets arrive as part of the game update, and these include the F-74A Seacat and the F/A-81F Super Spectre. Wake Island will be returning to the Battlefield franchise, and there will be two new modes that "celebrate Battlefield's scale and Top Gun's iconic cinematic action: Carrier Strike and Gauntlet: Fighter Sweep"=." When it comes to new soldier skins, players can expect to jump into the flight boots of iconic Top Gun characters such as Lt. Bradley "Rooster" Bradshaw (Miles Teller), Lt. Robert "Bob" Floyd (Lewis Pullman), and Adm. Solomon "Warlock" Bates (Charles Parnell). While Battlefield 6 is the best-selling premium title of 2025, that wasn't enough to stop the bloodshed as publisher Electronic Arts still laid off developers across Battlefield Studios, which is comprised of DICE, Ripple Effect, Criterion and Motive Studio. Tom Cruise's Maverick won'tbe a part of the soldier skins, though there's no explanation as to why. If I had t hazard a guess, it's moreso the actor not giving his permission instead of EA not wanting to spring for it. The press release states, "All-out war hits the shores of Wake Island, rebuilt for Battlefield 6 for total combined-arms warfare across its scenic beaches, bunkers, and open Pacific waters. Take to the skies in the new F/A-81F Super Spectre and F-74A Seacat two-seat jets with your wingman, patrol the shoreline, and launch strikes from offshore aircraft carriers. Master white-knuckle dogfights in Gauntlet: Fighter Sweep, wage air-to-sea battle in Carrier Strike, and demolish enemy lines to dominate the Pacific. Complete event challenges for exclusive Top Gun rewards and unlock the all-new Interdictor sniper rifle." In other Battlefield 6 news, while Season 5 will be the last major seasonal content drop of 2026, DICE has confirmed that won't be the last one, though there are no plans for a rent-a-server coming anytime soon. Once the preload for the update is live, which should be on August 17, MP1st'll be sure to let its readers know. Expect the patch notes to be available by then too. Like it or not, Sony seems hellbent on pushing for a disc-free gaming future for the PlayStation brand.
