Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or Project Management with eight to ten years of experience leading and managing projects, or a high school diploma with twelve years of experience leading and managing projects.
  • Eight to ten years of experience at a commercial nuclear power plant is preferred.
  • Professional certification such as Certified Associate in Project Management or Project Management Professional is recommended or must be obtained within two years of becoming Project Manager II.
  • Strong attention to schedule deadlines and budgetary guidelines.
  • Proven success working with all levels of management.
  • Strong written and oral/verbal communication skills, including the ability to make formal presentations to management.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, and artificial intelligence applications.
  • Willingness and ability to support domestic travel, including overnight travel, to various vendor and company locations.
Responsibilities
  • Manage small- to large-scale operations and maintenance and capital projects, including budget maintenance and adherence to project schedules and milestones.
  • Build and develop the project team to ensure maximum performance by providing purpose, direction, and motivation.
  • Lead projects from requirements definition through deployment, including identifying schedules, scopes, budget estimates, implementation plans, and risk mitigation.
  • Coordinate internal and external resources to ensure projects adhere to scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Analyze project status and revise scope, schedule, or budget when necessary to ensure project requirements are met.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with relevant client stakeholders and provide day-to-day contact regarding project status and changes.
  • Deliver projects within cost and schedule constraints while coordinating multiple vendors and varied internal work.
  • Provide day-to-day support to peers and groups and proactively support leadership, peers, and customers.
  • Provide leadership on continuous-improvement initiatives and projects.
  • Drive project-team adherence to online and outage work-management milestones.
  • Troubleshoot issues, assess alternatives and risks, and implement solutions while keeping projects on track.
  • Establish and maintain processes for managing scope throughout the project lifecycle, set quality and performance standards, and assess risks.
  • Develop and maintain high-quality project-management documentation.
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with third-party resources, including vendors and researchers.
  • Assign and monitor resources to ensure project efficiency and maximize deliverables.
  • Report project outcomes and risks through appropriate management channels and escalate issues as necessary according to the project work plan.
  • Perform Emergency Response Organization duties as assigned.
