Requirements
  • A minimum of a master's degree in the specific degree for the position, or a master's degree with a minimum of 18 graduate credits in a specifically related field.
  • A minimum of one year of full-time teaching experience, or the equivalent as an adjunct instructor.
  • An equivalent and applicable combination of education and experience to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position.
  • Knowledge of pedagogy and teaching experience equating to two years.
  • A strong background in computers and technology, organizational skills, general office skills, communication and interpersonal skills, willingness to learn, ability to research and effectively analyze data, and ability to work independently toward established goals and deadlines.
  • Commitment to working effectively with students, employees, and community members of all backgrounds.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.
  • Successful completion of a background check and, when applicable, a motor vehicle records report.
  • Adherence to the college's safety and compliance policies.
  • Ability to perform the physical and communication requirements of the position, including computer and standard office equipment use and occasional driving.
Responsibilities
  • Teach the assigned course load.
  • Evaluate courses and assess student learning.
  • Meet established course, program, and learning outcomes.
  • Comply with applicable guidelines and policies.
  • Maintain office hours according to established standards.
  • Develop rapport with students and assist with advising, orientation, and registration activities.
  • Engage in scholarly and creative activities that enhance discipline expertise and learning.
  • Participate in campus and college committees, relevant projects, assessment activities, program review, student organizations, recruiting, and retention.
  • Mentor peers and assist with service activities.
  • Prepare appropriate lesson plans for each course in accordance with approved course objectives.
  • Develop and submit course outlines and syllabi to the appropriate supervisor.
  • Assist with developing measurable course objectives and plans.
  • Develop professional relationships with students and staff that encourage teacher-student communication.
  • Maintain accurate student course records and complete required course forms.
  • Be available for student consultation.
  • Assist with student recruitment as appropriate.
  • Assist with evaluation of curriculum and instructional performance when agreed upon and appropriate.
  • Represent the college professionally throughout its communities and district.
  • Engage in professional development as required for credentialing.
  • Supervise student employees when assigned.
  • Complete and submit grades before final contract payment is released when applicable.
  • Perform duties within the State of Colorado and accurately report the work location.
  • Work assigned evening or weekend hours and travel when required.
Desired Qualifications
