About the Company

The Trade Desk

Builds software for buying digital advertising

The Trade Desk builds advertising software that agencies and brands use to buy digital ad space across streaming television, websites, mobile apps, and audio. Its Kokai platform combines campaign planning, audience selection, buying, and measurement in one workspace. Buyers bring their own customer data, choose audiences and budgets, and use automated bidding to purchase impressions from publishers and advertising exchanges. The company earns platform fees generally based on a share of client spending, plus fees for data and other services, while reporting revenue net of most supplier costs. The Trade Desk was founded in 2009 and is headquartered in Ventura, California.
