About the job
- At least one year of healthcare experience.
- Knowledge of procedures and protocols necessary for patient safety.
- Understanding of common medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Flexibility with staffing and adaptability to changes in patient-care practices.
- High attention to detail and strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Ability to display empathy while multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to respond tactfully and constructively to feedback and work well with others.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- High school diploma or GED is preferred.
- One year of prior experience in a healthcare-related field is preferred.
- Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association is preferred.
- Perform delegated patient-care activities as directed by the RN or medical staff after documented training, aligned with the patient’s age-specific needs to ensure safe, accurate, high-quality treatment.
- Document patient care accurately.
- Participate in unit organization, cleaning, and safety activities.
- Maintain unit supplies, prepare patient rooms and medical records, enter charges, and answer the multi-line telephone to support efficient unit operations.
- Answer patient questions about the treatment plan within the expected scope or refer to an RN when appropriate.
- Make rounds and respond promptly to patient requests.
- Assist with patient admission, transfer, and discharge as directed.
