About the job

Requirements
  • At least 8 years of professional experience planning and developing digital products, including at least 5 years as a Product Manager or in equivalent product leadership.
  • Experience leading a mobile or web product from strategy and definition through release and continuous improvement, including at least one product or new-product hypothesis-validation phase from zero to one.
  • Experience defining end-to-end user journeys or shared capabilities across multiple user groups, functional areas, or external service integrations.
  • Practical understanding of software architecture and system design, the ability to assess technical feasibility and trade-offs for complex products, and experience leading development in collaboration with engineering teams.
  • Business-level Japanese and English proficiency and experience working at a Japanese company.
Responsibilities
  • Define and manage the MaaS product strategy, vision, roadmap, and success metrics, connecting user value and business goals with a path from initial validation to scaled deployment.
  • Lead continuous, on-site hypothesis validation, including observation and interviews with drivers, local residents, operators, and municipal stakeholders.
  • Prioritize features based on user impact, business value, technical feasibility, risk, and learning velocity from hypothesis validation, and translate decisions into outcome-focused backlogs, product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Partner with product designers to define user flows, interactions, prototypes, and final user interfaces, and validate them through usability testing and field feedback.
  • Use generative AI and other tools to improve the efficiency and quality of product-management processes, including information gathering and analysis, hypothesis development, requirements organization, and prototyping.
  • Own user value and product decisions; collaborate with Business, Engineering, and Design leads and coordinate with operations, legal, municipalities, mobility providers, and other stakeholders; lead work end to end from hypothesis validation and requirements definition through release, field operations, and improvement.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with products connecting digital experiences and physical operations, such as mobility, MaaS, transportation, marketplaces, or logistics.
  • Experience collaborating with municipalities, public institutions, regulated industries, or urban-development stakeholders.
  • Experience taking products from initial validation to a repeatable deployment model, commercialization, or platform scale.
  • Ability to practice genchi genbutsu (learning directly from users and operational settings), challenge assumptions, and take ownership in ambiguous environments.
