- 0-2 years of experience is required.
- A high school diploma or General Educational Development credential is required.
- Successful completion of Patient Care Technician training and an active Patient Care Technician Certification are required.
- An American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification is required.
- Successful completion of the CPCT-A certification is required.
- The position requires working 24 hours per week on part-time day status, from 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., with weekend and holiday rotation.
- Effective communication skills are required for interacting with patients, visitors, and coworkers.
- The capacity to identify and communicate changes in patient status is required.
- Support patients’ activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, feeding, hygiene, mobility, and transport, while following standard precautions.
- Perform technical duties as directed by a Registered Nurse, including phlebotomy, vital signs, point-of-care testing, electrocardiograms, and Foley catheter care, and document appropriately.
- Identify and communicate changes in patient status to the Registered Nurse and respond appropriately while maintaining safe patient practices.
- Reinforce education for patients and families regarding care needs and safety.
- Participate in patient satisfaction initiatives and performance improvement activities.
- Assist in orienting new hires.
- Complete annual hospital and unit-specific competencies by the required due date.
- Adhere to safety protocols and quality standards to maintain a safe environment and high-quality patient care.
